Questions about Saddam's trial and charges against him. |

Now how is what Saddam did after the attempt on his life worse than what Bush did after the attempt on his father's life. And how is it different from Israel bombing innocent civilians and demolishing homes in retaliation for alleged Hamas or other Palestinian assassination attempts or suicide bombings? While I don't condone any of these retaliations, I fail to see why Bush or Sharon have not been called to stand trial for killing innocent civilians. If a state tries to break off from the United States of America would we not go to war with that state? Didn't we already do that in something called the Civil War? Weren't thousands of fellow countrymen and women killed in this war? Is that much different from Saddam clamping down on the Kurds who tried to break away from Iraq? Didn't Kurds kill thousands of other Iraqis also? Did we have any justification whatsoever for invading Iraq?

1. I don't think it will be an effective defense for Saddam |

to say "sure I murdered people, but other leaders did too."
Try that one next time you get stopped for a speeding ticket.
Herman Goering at the Nuremburg Trials was charged with making war plans in secret. He said in his defense that he didn't remember reading the US war plans in the New York Times either. He was given the death sentence.

2. My real point is, shouldn't Bush be arrested and charged also? |
