Stand with Dean --- he's the one who can stand up to Bush
The Dean Blog - some of his message:
----------------------------------------
We must ask everyone who believes we need a president who will stand up for what's right - even when it's not politically popular - to stand with us.

And we must ask everyone who believe that the best way to defeat George Bush is to stand up to him all the time - not just when it's convenient - to stand with us.

We are going to bring healthcare to every American and restore a foreign policy consistent with American values. We are going to rebuild the American community, which this president has divided.

At least he has a record on the issues...more than I can say than the "promise'rs".

3. Sorry Clark is my man
Dean's poor showing in Iowa and NH (considering he was governor of a neighboring state) mean that Democrats believe that he cannot beat Bush.

6. Nope
Because that electability crap was just a trap thrown out by the Kerry camp. Dean cannot acknowledge it and give it creedence.

even you've accepted it

9. With all due respect, Dean hasn't stood up to anybody
He's been shouting from the sidelines all this time. Sorry, but talk is cheap.

11. He spoke out when few others would
With all due respect most of our Democratic representatives have had their head in the sand despite our efforts to get them to represent us. Howard Dean was not on the sidelines as Governor for 11 years, and in fact he has the record that contrasts most with *'s. When he came into office there was a relatively large deficit, the budget is now balanced. Education, health care, and other services for the people of Vermont improved while he was in office. Perhaps you think the hundreds of thousands of us who support Dean are just talking too. Dean is far more than talk, be honest.

13. If talk is so cheap
why couldn't the beltway Democrats have spent for a few words on our behalf?

14. Dean all the way
even the talking heads say his message has been co-opted by the others. He just has to retool to make a course adjustment now that he is being parroted by the others. I just hope there is enough time, but he seems to be a pretty quick learner.
This "electable image" thing is a red herring - think back to "unelectable" presidents - Lincoln, Truman, and others. Why must the south be perceived to be so much more important than the rest of us - didn't the north win the civil war? Enough with pandering!!
I think old Ben Frankin would have really really liked the good Dr. Dean. And that for me says it all.

15. Standing firm with Dean
You know...I thought because all of us, no matter whom we supported, have had to deal with setbacks, downturns, and difficulties in the campaigns we backed, that maybe now people here at DU would not be so eager to pour salt in wounds of others.

Judging from some of the comments I'm seeing here at DU, I was giving some of you way too much credit.

Back to lurking again.
