Poll question: ABBers: Is there a leading candidate you would support

in the general election, but would do so much less enthusiastically than the others BECAUSE you fear he will lose to Bush?

This is NOT intended as flamebait, so please help me get some info without flames.

Where am I coming from? I read threads that some view as bashing and others view as expressing serious concerns about whether a candidate can beat Bush and a hope that we will turn away from the candidate for that reason, even if they basically feel the candidate is well-qualified and warranting their ABB support. I would like to know how many people feel that way without having a fight about voting records or specific platform issues, speaking style, etc., but just focus on perceived electability, however YOU define it and whatever you may think will attract votes from the general public. Here, I am not asking for input from those who feel they can't support certain candidates because they are "pro-war" or too weak on health care, or whatever. Please start a poll if you want to know about that. I want to hear from you if you WILL support any Dem who is the nominee, but would be very uncomfortable ONLY because you are afraid he won't have a good chance against Bush.

I hope I haven't confused anyone.

So, another way of asking my question is: Which of the currently top 4 candidates would you vote for, but really hope they will not be the nominee?

As long as we get behind our nominee, if it's one of these four, we'll do fine.

6. Fear of Losing Does Not Equal Lack of Enthusiasm

I could cast an enthusiastic vote in the general for a sure loser. It's actually more likely I would cast an UNnenthusaistic vote for someone who might actually win.

7. I'm not equating them. I am asking whether there is

someone you are not enthusiastic about BECAUSE of perceived electability problems. That does not prevent you from doing either of the things you described. It's just a different poll.
