Edited on Wed Jan-28-04 08:12 PM by KoKo01
....an annoyance to be ignored since we are the "Democratic Wing" of the "Democratic Party"....(in Dean's words)?

CNN uses photo op's of Kerry mounting the steps of his jet where he appears as a tall "Lincolnesque Figure" against the snowscape of New Hampshire. He pauses and take a Presidential wave at those who supported him.

It's an incredible photo op! A little earlier they show Tall Kerry, Lincolnesque/Bushesque taking a handful of New Hampshire snow ready to toss to reporters......but he stops...dead in his tracks........his mind goes back to CNN Bush photo op this week where Bush playfully grabs snowball and tosses to his slavering White House Reporter Pack and probably (if the sound was on) yelled a few nickname calls out to "Pablo, Stretch, and Tall One," in the typical Bush
style of "kissing ass to the WH Press Corp.) Kerry stops short and doesn't throw it. He playfully remembers the moment and decides to pass on it. Too much....over the top. He plays subtle here....

If Kerry could have "gunned his Harley" and ridden up to the plane for his departure "On to South Carolina" it would have made the moment even more historic and prescient. But.....alas.....the Harley was not there.....nor were his hockey skates.

Still America got a view of the new "Lincoln/JFK" TALL FOOT President to come. And, aren't we glad we don't have that weenie Deanie with his JC Penny Suits and his "reluctant Dr. Wifie" to kick around anymore!

Ain't it GRAND! The American Political Process at Work for the "Average Folks." And Chris Matthews and Don Imus are thinking that "WTF!" DEMOCRACY IN AMERICA IS ALIVE! THE "PEOPLE" HAVE SPOKEN.

Sad....but true....or Happy but true.....depends on the perspective one brings to the whole situation.

29. That the media has decided Kerry is an acceptable candidate
for us to choose from.

And we are not amused.

I for one did not, to my knowledge, participate in the extrodinary displays of hubris by some Dean supporters. However, to watch the Kerry folks re-enact the same silly memes of invincibility they were deriding a few weeks ago is mildly amusing.

Edited on Wed Jan-28-04 08:13 PM by Kerryfan
Haven't you heard him on Imus ? His son is a "Deaniac" . His words, not mine.

Edit. Kind of arrogant of Dean to say that by the way, especially being that Wellstone and Kerry worked closely on many things. Ready for incoming.

19. Tweety like whatever his whore's pay him to like. He's delightfully
Edited on Wed Jan-28-04 08:29 PM by KoKo01
Entertaining that way.......if you've watched him for as long as many of us have. He twists and turns depending ont the way the wind blows.....and sometimes it's profitable for him to turn his back to the wind....just to keep an audience. And, poor Imus....all those "disadvantaged kids he has to shove through the gates to his ranch--like cattle just to get his tax decuctions for charity and "farming allotment to senior citizens (he IS a classified Senior Citizen and uses his ranch for farming and charity purposes....big tax break for him..) Check the tax codes if you don't believe me......I know about these things from experience....

So Mr. Tweety, Imus and Tom Browkaw and Donny Rumsfeld all have much in common. They SHARE in the great wealth of the US. And, what's more...if you asked them....they would tell you like the old "Smith-Barney Investment Commercials on TV".......WE EARNED IT....WE WHORED BIG TIME .....before WE GOT THE BRASS/GOLD RING!

33. Oh, please ...
Matthews is as responsible as any single person in America for bringing Dean down --- if he goes down, and I hope he doesn't.

How soon we forget! Tweety-bird is the one who played the "scream-scene" on his show THREE TIMES NIGHTLY. Added to which, was a running commentary about how "insane, unstable, maniacal, demented, deranged, etc., etc." Howard Dean is.

Sure, LATELY -- VERY LATELY -- Matthews has been half-way decent to Dean, but personally, I think it's because one of his SONS supports Dean, and the kid probably called Chris on his obnoxious behavior. If you're a parent, you will know that children are easily embarrassed by their parents' actions.

47. Tweety want's Dean, not Kerry
A direct quote from him last night on his show:

"In the weeks ahead, if you have something to say and want to say it, please come to Hardball and make it your podium,"

Matthews has made no secret of the fact that he loves Dean, but if you DO want to read an interesting take on the media and the coverage of the primaries, here's the story that the quote comes from.

8. Stop going after Kerry
the media has spoken the Bonesman will be our sacrificial offering to the fascist. I don't know how much longer our country will exist I suspect shortly after the asshole gets reselected the U.S. economy will crash. The bastards are outsourcing all of the hight tech, manufacturing jobs and trying to bring in 8 mil. illegals to take the low paying jobs. That leaves no jobs for the "middle class" or even our lower class. No work means no homes or hopes. The media will still spin that "free trade" is the way to go, and everybody will be standing around waiting to be trickled on by Bushco.

15. there can be only one
that is so full of bitterness and resentment...

i really hope that everyone is preparing themselves to get behind Kerry if (pause, crowd starts screaming 'when!') the time comes.

maybe some of us wanted Dean or Kucinich or Clark to be the nominee, i know i've pulled for all of them recently (i've been sort of jumping from candidate to candidate)... but they can't all be the winner, and yes the media sucks completely and has ahd undue influence on our primary,
BUT what i see in Kerry is a winner! maybe because of the votes he's gotten, maybe the comeback, maybe the press. but hey, do we want the press on our side or not? if Kerry is a candidate that Begala and Carville can gush over, i'm not going to let that bother me even though they all ignored Kucinich and trashed Dean.

this is OUR YEAR! we are going to take it to the streets, take it to the people, and the Democratic Revolution will happen this year. and we will take our country back!

so, what i'm saying is i wish more of the DUer's here would get ready to cheer up and get optimistic and enthusiastic for the likely nominee, whoever it becomes.

Bush will win in a a landslide, IMO.

I'll bring a puke bucket and hold my nose while voting for Kerry, but I know it won't do any good. He's a hopeless sacrificial lamb and will lose in a landslide.

Insiders NEVER defeat incumbants in modern politics.

Bob Dole, '96.
Walter Mondale, '84.
George McGovern, '72.
Barry Goldwater, '64.
Adlai Stevenson, '56.

Kerry will be the '04 sacrifical lamb, and I predict a worse blowout than Dukakis in '88.

24. Okay, but Jon Stewart had a gag running about GIGANTOR!!
Kerry was being filmed from that "ooh you're so tall" angle, and Stewart did a gag on it.. "I AM GIGANTOR!!". It was all quite ridiculous. I agree.. the media has annointed Kerry. They choose someone every election.. whether it be Democrat or Republican. I doubt that the corporate bosses are directing the every move or word of the reporters and photographers... rather it is based on personal bias. I don't think this is Bush's year.. as it's not Dean's year. They will get the Gore treatment.. and Kerry will get the Presidential material treatment.

I'll support Kerry if I must, if he's the nominee.. but I want a real person.. he has never, ever shown that side. I have always had the impression of him that the thought he was entitled to the presidency, and that he is so much better than the rest of us. He needs to come down to earth.. with us voters. I may like him if I actually can see who he REALLY is. He's an enigma at this point, with good bone structure.

have changed what's wrong.....and we shouldn't stop think about what's wrong every day of our lives.

I didn't expect the Democratic Nomination to be "wrapped up" in January by Iowa and New Hampshire. I didn't spend almost three years of my life devoted to "underground websites" to have this all decided in two very small states who have "interesting ways of voting."

I didn't take lightly to "Selection 2000" or to the "Iraq Invasion" and those are only the two most glaring things wrong about my America.

I won't stop....with this. I knew it would be harder than I thought at the beginning. But, I didn't expect not to have any support from my Democratic Party....time after...time...after....time.....letting me down.

To solve the Problem of "Selection 200" and "Doctrine of Imperial America" will take a long, long time. THOSE are the ISSUES. Along with Corporate Greed-Corruption, and a dismantling of all our Social Programs. And....there's more in their "stocking full of goodies." And our Democratic Party is complicit.

"Hang the Sign Out.....Gone Fishing" Senator Robert Byrd said on the Senate Floor over a year ago. He knew exactly what he was saying.

Let's GO FISH! Or....maybe Pheasant hunt with Unka Dickie!

'em off or alcohol them off. Even then you suffer for a little bit over the bite. Fleas are hoppity creatures....more an annoyance, but they do multiply into something that needs alot of attention.

Still if you get the first flea flicked off your collar.....it's gone and does little damage. A Tick otoh, has great tenacity.

I think Kerry sees a flea.......I think he might be in for more than he or the DLC bargained for.

Who knows though. Maybe he will listen and be our "Tall Knight in Shining Armor, astride his Harley" riding to our defense. He just couldn't tell us what his "secret weapon' will be.

It might happen..I'm always hopeful.

Dean appears to be happy with his 2nd place showing. If you had told him a year ago that he would place third in Iowa and second in New Hampshire, he would have been DELIGHTED.

I'm pretty certain that if Dean had won NH, he too would have his moment in the sun. There are many more races to go.
