MSNBC's Dean campaign correspondant reported today the Dean campaign was asking staffers to defer salaries. Also pulling TV ads.

That's never a good sign.

Finances aren't "fine" when you're defering salaries and pulling TV ads. They're spending it faster than they're getting it, or at best as it comes in.

I agree that he changed his spending trend mid-stream, but he's at the same fundraising level he was at before Iowa. This indicates a spending issue to me, not a fundraising issue.

He's reducing spending while keeping the same levels of donations.

I'd say that was "fine".
