I listened to Mathews interview Trippi tonight too. I liked Joe, but you have to recognize the 2 losses in Iowa and NH. I hate the political process, but as Howard Dean said, you have to play the hand dealt you. Maybe Trippi was too nice. Maybe Neel will be able to steer the Dean campaign through the mine field.

Whoever is our nominee is, he will have a more treacherous mine field with the Pubs than with the Dems. I believe the Dems have been far to nice on the campaign trail in the last several years and that's why we are the minority party in the House and the Senate today.

Maybe we do need a guy who is very familiar with the Washington methods to guide Dean to victory!

believes in Dean. He showed class and loyalty.

4. It is sad when a person really puts their heart into something and

then wlks away. I think he will go back as well. If anyone feels that strongly about something and has their heart is so tied up they can't let go. He may be hurt but he still cares. He will be back.

over what Howard Dean says. Makes them nervous. Makes the national Democrats uneasy too as we have all seen; they also like to control. But it makes his supporters ecstatic because they know for certain Howard Dean is his own man.

I still haven't heard a convincing rebuttal of the allegation carried in last night's NYT piece that Dean moved Trippi aside largely because of the issue that Trippi's own ad agency made more than $3 million in placement commissions for Dean TV ads. Those commissions came out of Dean funds.

If accurate, it would only be smart for Trippi to maintain a public position of allegiance to the campaign.

I don't know what the truth is here, but I'm damned surprised nobody seems to know the facts about this very strong allegation, and, even more, Dean supporters seem to be giving Trippi a pass on it.

I own an ad agency. I guarantee you that if it were me and I were absolutely dedicated to the election of a candidate because the future of my country depended on it, I sure as hell wouldn't skim 10-15% of the contributions off the top--well in excess of what I'd need for a salary and to actually have people do the work.

This is a serious allegation. How in the hell is it that Norville didn't even bring it up?

15. Before I heard Dean didn't want Joe to leave I almost believed

the whole mismanagement of money thing. I don't believe it anymore and here's why. If Trippi had of mismanaged the money Dean would not have asked him to stay on in the campaign. That's one thing about Dean that won't change. If he hires someone or gives them a position and they screw up really badly or are in any way negligent, they won't be keeping that job. This is one of the things that he would bring to Washington that would make one hell of a huge difference in the way things work. It doesn't matter if it's a Republican or a Democrat...if they are corrupt, cheating or doing something bad on purpose he won't protect them. If it's just laziness, he'll ride their butts and make them do their job. He has a way of getting things done that you don't often see in politics. If people knew Dean as Vermonters know him, they would support him at the same level that Joe Trippi does. It's really sad to see so many people ignoring all he has to offer by allowing the GOP to play on irrational fear.
