Did any of the candidates "tailor" their messages to Southern stereotypes?
Although Joe Lieberman was intent on letting everyone know that he was a 'moderate centrist', as if that is what every Democrat in SC happens to be, did any other candidates change dramatically from their message in NH just last week? Personally I did not notice. I think it is a positive when we can discuss politics when in the South, just as you would in the North. To me, that is progress.

1. They all did pretty well
Of course, they were all spouting South Carolina unemployment figures and so on, instead of New Hampshire or Iowa, but that's as it should be.

I did think Edwards went too far with his assertion that the Bush administration didn't exaggerate the threat of terror, but I don't know if that's because he was in the South or if that's the line he always takes.

On a positive Edwards note, he seemed to be pretty supportive of GLBT rights, just as he is on the stump in places other than the south. I was happy to see that.

Hi Kentuck, I have to agree with you. There was little of the usual pandering to the "southern" voter.
