Does voting for the IWR take Iraq off the table in the GE?

When the general election comes around, will having a candidate who voted for the IWR take the issue off the table, or will it still be a big factor? I'm not saying that the GE will eventually have a candidate who voted for the IWR. The question is more directed towards finding out if we can reframe the major issues of the General Election to more Democrat friendly grounds of jobs, health care, the economy, etc.

The unneeded, unnecessary deaths and maiming, and damage, physical and to our world standing, our moral standing, our arrogantly eroded alliances, the drain on our economy, the increased danger to the US from terrorists, the increased chaos in the ME...for starters, all as the truth of the fraudulent invasion begins to come to light, - how can this not be an issue.

No, a pro-invasion candidate doesn't take the issue off the table, that's wishful thinking. In fact, it does two things. It demoralizes, and unmotivates the growing number of Americans/Democrats who see this bloody fraud for what it was/is, as well as gives the bush/rove machine an opportunity to HIGHLIGHT the AGREEMENT of our guy with bush. And we would deserve the resulting defeat, having tried to be a different kind of bush.

There are still troops over there and the bush adminisration's "hugs and flowers" after the war was won plan was not a good one. He'll still be able to argue that...maybe the point about bush's doing it on a timetable and undermining the inspectors and or allies too.
