Ah, Yes! This is what I like to hear about Wes Clark.......
Posted on the Clark blog and compiled by By la4wesclark Kris Kristofferson says it all! Enjoy!

"Just when the world is being dragged into the death spiral of an unending cycle of violence by a vision-less, coldblooded collection of think-tank warriors goose-stepping their way into the new millennium with a stunning lack of respect for human rights, the environment, or international law, along comes a man with the proven credentials of intelligence, integrity, and courage singularly equipped by his spirit and experience to lead us out of this mess. Don't listen to what the lying liars say about him; listen to what he says. Wesley Clark is a prayer answered."

Peace,
Kris Kristofferson
-------------------

"There are two stars in the Democratic Party -- Hillary and Wes Clark."

Bill Clinton
-------------------

"Major Clark is one of the most outstanding officers of his grade in the U.S. Army...an officer of impeccable character with a rare blend of personal qualities and professional attributes which uniquely qualify him as a soldier-scholar. While he has the intellectual grasp of world affairs attained only by the top scholars in the field, he projects soldierly qualities of strength, character, leadership, and above all an unyielding sense of personal responsibility. It is this sense of responsibility which clearly sets him apart from his contemporaries. has the intellectual, moral and physical stamina, coupled with an unrelenting quest for excellence, which insures the completion of every task to near perfection. Major Clark's earnestness, sincerity of purpose and absolute dedication convey a moral force in his work which gives him a significant voice in this headquarters..."

-General Alexander M. Haig, Jr., July 19, 1978
-------------------

"I have decided to cast my vote in the primary for Wesley Clark. That's right, a peacenik is voting for a general. What a country!

I believe that Wesley Clark will end this war. He will make the rich pay their fair share of taxes. He will stand up for the rights of women, African Americans, and the working people of this country.

And he will cream George W. Bush.'"

Michael Moore
-------------------

"Nothing is more American; nothing is more patriotic than speaking out, questioning authority and holding your leaders accountable."

Wes Clark
-------------------

"I asked a whole lot of my friends who were generals and colonels and majors, who served over General Clark and under General Clark and every last one of them said to me that this is a good man, and if he were leading our nation they would be proud. son of the South capable of making a dangerous world a safer place for everybody. A man we are going to make the next president of the United States."

Andrew Young
-------------------

"General Wesley Clark carried out the policy of the NATO Alliance to stop massive ethnic cleansing in Kosovo with great skill, integrity, and determination."

Bill Clinton
-------------------

" seems to be preoccupied, and I'm quoting now, with building legitimacy, with exhausting all diplomatic remedies... So I think General Clark simply doesn't want to see us use military force and he has thrown out as many reasons as he can develop to that but the bottom line is he just doesn't want to take action. He wants to wait."

Richard Perle, Iraq war-mongerer, before congress Sept. 26, 2002
-------------------

"There are a lot of good Democrats in this race, but Wes Clark is the best Democrat."

Sen. George McGovern
-------------------

"To those who say that Wes Clark has never held political office: anyone who can command NATO, and keep all those forces together, and win that war without losing one American life, knows what it means to hold political office."

Tom Harkin
-------------------

"Wes Clark has been a superb battalion commander and will be a superb brigade commander. He is an officer of the rarest potential and will clearly rise to senior general officer rank. He will be one of the Army's leaders in the 1990's."

General Colin Powell, May 21, 1982
-------------------

"My Enron experience has brought home to me just how important the tone at the top is. integrity, he's not going to mislead the American people and he has a longterm vision. I think Wes Clark is just the person to help rebuild and restore the damage that has been done by the way we bullied our way into the war."

Sherron Watkins, Enron whistle-blower, Time Person Of The Year 2002
-------------------

"You will determine whether rage or reason guides the United States in the struggle to come. You will choose whether we are known for revenge or compassion. You will choose whether we, too, will kill in the name of God, or whether in His name, we can find a higher civilization and a better means of settling our differences"

Wes Clark = All Patriot; No Act 44th in '04

3. Kristoferson also was at Westpoint. Like Clark, he taught -
English Lit (vs Clark's economics). Then he decided to hang it all up and bacome a songwriter (Wes Jr also did that to become a writer after Westpoint)

2. The more I think about it...
...the more convinced I become that *only* Clark can beat * in November. Kerry has a raft of baggage from 35 years of voting on Capitol Hill that will misrepresented in sound bite commercials. Dean has been effectively neutered by the media and will continue to be portrayed as out of control. Edwards is too inexperienced. Clark has none of these weaknesses.

Additionally, Clark has all the positive traits of the above candidates. He also immobilizes * on defense and security issues. Is he perfect? No. But he's the best we have by a long way.

8. Starting WWIII
Clark has baggage and we probably don't even know all of it.

I can't figure out why anybody would turn their back on somebody who stood up for Democratic values his whole life instead of turning on him because he did exactly what we expected him to do. Either we believe in our party or we don't. I prefer the guy who fought Ronald Reagan, not the guy who was voting for him while he set this country on a course of destruction.

9. Slow down a little, sandnsea.
I didn't say anything bad about Kerry, and I don't intend to. It is a fact that anyone serving in Congress for 35 years is going to have some votes on some issues that are embarrassing to them. (Most were probably buried in omnibus spending bills or other blackmail tactics.) So, there is no doubt that *'s dirty tricks team will pore over all of Kerry's votes and will also no doubt find such items. Then they will misuse the information horribly.

You rightly point out that Clark probably has some problems in his past as well. I agree. However, on the whole the public is more forgiving of military types than they are politicians. So, unless there is a deliberate massacre in Clark's past, he will probably be unharmed by his military mistakes.

If you want reassurance, I will tell you that if Kerry is the nominee, I will vote for him no matter what.

10. Baggage? You mean like this kinda stuff?

Kerry no stranger to lobbyists' donations
Senator among top recipients in Congress from special interests

WASHINGTON - In his quest for the White House, Sen. John Kerry says he is committed to sweeping out the "special interests" he contends are trying to manipulate federal laws and policies.
But the Massachusetts lawmaker and Democratic presidential front-runner is among Congress' top recipients of money from some of those special interests - drug companies, HMOs, lawyers, investment firms, real estate interests and contractors, among others."more
I wonder if him not voting against the Medicare buster bill had anything to do with those HMO kick backs...
And you had the chutzpa to smear Clark whose entire life is open .

This was supposed to be a thread for Clark. But you had to hijack it with your acrimony. Winning support a mile a minute here!

12. WW III???????
Where the hell did you get that idea? Where's a link that says he will start WWIII? Don't give me the Pristina Airport rhetoric because that has already been debunked. Where's a link that proves he will start WWWIII?

Wes Clark was an Independent. He was in the military for 34 years and the military tends to vote republican...that's the way it is. He registered as a Democrat in 2002. He voted for a DEMOCRAT, BILL CLINTON, IN 1992. HE VOTED FOR A DEMOCRAT, BILL CLINTON, IN 1996 AND HE VOTED FOR A DEMOCRAT, AL GORE, IN 2000. How long does he have to be a Democrat for YOU to be happy. What a ridiculous statement.

Too bad your guy voted for the IWR and the Patriot Act. He had a DIRECT hand in killing over 500 American soldiers and thousands of Iraqi citizens. He has also had a hand taking away our civil rights.
