Pressure McCain! Why? The torture issue!
http://mccain.senate.gov/index.cfm?fuseaction=Contact.Home

How could McCain vote for Alito?
Alito believes that the President can do whatever
the hell he wants.

The President wants to torture.
And McCain has made this one of his BIG issues.

So, if McCain votes for Alito, he would be voting against his beliefs.
And if he does say Yay to Alito, wouldn't he be labelled a flip-flopper
when he runs for President in 2008...wouldn't people then say "He voted
for torture, even tho he was against it."?

And besides, he is my senator...and I need help.

2. You're right and I did email him, but...
Our sellout Senator will go along with the rest of the Repugs and confirm him anyway.

3. What exactly are McCain's beliefs?
He's a republican who is against torture, but for war. He's a republican who was trashed by dubya & co and watched them trash Kerry too....although he did say quit it with Kerry. And he's a republican who when push comes to shove will recant those things he is against and go for the party.

4. but maybe - just maybe if we can make him feel guilty
because of the torture issue.

I doubt it will change his mind, BUT maybe he will
think twice when he casts that vote.

5. John Mccain is an asshole
He just says what ever he thinks will win him points.I have called his office many times and told him how he has sold out his country.
I actually supported him when he ran against bush but now I realize he is as bad and any repuke out there

6. your right - he is an asshole
But not as big as an asshole as Kyl - lol.

Anyway, it's worth sending him an email.
This can be an issue that the dems use against him in 2008 should he win the GOP nomination.

7. This is a great idea.
It's important to bug the Democrats in Congress, but imperative that the Republicans also hear from the public. After all, the Republicans control the Congress by majority and should hear from their constituents when the positions they take amount to hypocrisy. I will write him a letter, because this situation impacts not only his constituents, but every American.
