Would you support him more, less or about the same you do now?

(I'm including less in here because...well, you can't really do a nice poll with "More" and not include "Less" it's a kinda ying-yang thing, you know)

I'm just curious if people had a low opinion of Kerry before the IWR, so I'm going to be paying close attention to the "no difference" numbers.

5. If Kerry would come out right now and say invading Iraq was wrong

he'd go a long way toward mending things. It wouldn't make everything ok, but the war, the invasion, was a lie, and refusing to condemn it, SIMPLY AND CLEARLY, at this point is just unacceptable. To me, anyway.

I can forgive someone who says "I was wrong." I have a hard time with someone who was wrong, yet refuses to adimit it.

That way, if the war suddenly becomes popular again, he can say he was for it all along.

Words, from Sen. Kerry's bio:

Actions: Sen. Kerry, up for reelection within 30 days and with polling indicating widespread (though obviously misinformed) support for Bush's militaristic approach to Iraq, votes for IWR.

His negative campaigning (again, actions in opposition to his words) is the other factor that lost my respect.

And other people say he should have voted no because that's what his constituents would have wanted. People have 5,000 different reasons to beat Kerry up on this vote and they all conflict with each other. It's been a lynch mob mentality all year long and when it gets down to it, most of the time there's no real basis in fact. Like your reelection claims. Not even true.

Of the other pro-IWR Dem Pres. candidates, Edwards was NOT up for election, Lieberman *still* supports both the vote and the war (Yikes!).

Why do you think bush went to the UN, to Congress for the IWR, and back to the UN again?

The polls did not support bush's plan for unilateral invasion at the time of the IWR, a vast majority of Americans supported Kerry's position, dealing with Iraq through the UN.

The American people didn't turn towards supporting bush's unilateral invasion until around Powell's Feb 2003 presentation to the UN. Once bush got the okay from the polls he wrapped it up with the UN and invaded.

Don't believe bush's crapola about his not making his choices according to the polls... he might even be worse than Clinton in that regard.

Also, there wasn't anyone running against Kerry in 2002 that was a threat, his seat was not in question. He didn't base his decision on poll numbers, he based his decision upon what he thought was right...read what he said at the time of the vote and his position will become clear.

He was instrumental in driving Gore out of the race. His IWR vote simply cemented my disdain for him.

And if he had stood up against the Patriot Act and voted against gutting Medicare I would not be an activist for Dean... I would be solid for Kerry right now.

When we needed a senator to stand up for us, Kerry took the politically expedient way out. So I say: @#$% him.

Dean was a strong supporter of cutting Medicare all through the nineties. None of these reasons even make any sense at all.

the vote against the money.......... It's not a deal breaker for me but I don't really like it.

"With the knowledge I have now, I would not have voted for the use of force resolution.". "I made a mistake" or "I regret my decision" might also go a LONG way in mending some fences.

After all, one big supporter of his, Max Cleland has come out to publically express his regret over voting for it. It was definetely impressive.

Most people haven't even taken the time to read the IWR. Even fewer have taken the time to read what he said at the time of his vote.

It doesn't matter what he says because there are those that will just not take the time to listen.

Why do you think bush even got more a handful of votes in the last election or has anything more a handful of supporters for this election? Because there are too many Americans that do not take the time to find out and figure out for themselves what's going on.
