Poll question: Did Smirk ever hear of the inevitable Civil War in Iraq?
K-R reports:

"U.S. intelligence agencies repeatedly warned the White House beginning more than two years ago that the insurgency in Iraq had deep local roots, was likely to worsen and could lead to civil war, according to former senior intelligence officials who helped craft the reports."

My question to you: Did Il Dunce' ever hear these reports? I am convinced he NEVER saw the 8/6 PDB, and in fact knows almost nothing about the state of things in the world. I would bet my life savings that he couldn't find Iraq on a map. His only job is to get plastered and come out and give smirking appearances, saying what is piped into his earpiece.

Was Smirk ever informed that Iraq was headed inevitably to Civil War?

4. Ah, I see
so it's "The Resident is an avid reader" week, not "The Resident gets his news from trusted advisors" week. I missed the meme. Thanks.

5. He should have asked his dad. When Bush Sr.
was taken to task for not going into Baghdad he said that without Saddam the country would break down along tribal and religeous lines and desolve into open conflict, a conflict that would spill into neighboring countries. And I qoute,"And then what would you have?"

by Warren P. Strobel and Jonathan S. Landay

WASHINGTON - CIA officers in Iraq are warning that the country may be on a path to civil war, current and former U.S. officials said Wednesday, starkly contradicting the upbeat assessment that President Bush gave in his State of the Union address.

The CIA officers' bleak assessment was delivered verbally to Washington this week, said the officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity because of the classified information involved.
