DeLay fights for his political life in Texas

By John Whitesides, Political Correspondent
2 hours, 59 minutes ago

SUGAR LAND, Texas (Reuters) - He has been indicted, rebuked and dethroned from his Republican leadership perch, but Tom DeLay's fight for re-election to Congress could be the biggest challenge in a long political career.

DeLay, nicknamed "the Hammer" for the blunt way he wielded power during 22 years in the U.S. House of Representatives, has been swamped by ethics allegations that have made him a prime Democratic target in November's elections and a national symbol for charges of Republican corruption.

Once one of Washington's most powerful politicians, DeLay is scrambling to fight a Texas legal indictment and hold off challengers from both parties in his House race in the suburbs of Houston.

Snip....

"He has left us a legacy of debt, corruption and neglect, and he can't run from it," Lampson said. "I think it's something he has helped usher into our Congress that people would like to see changed."

3. think of all the millions of dollars that will be spent on this campaign
and for what? Why is an indicted felon even allowed to run for office?

4. If Delay wins with Diebold, everyone will know it's a sham.
There will be an enormous outcry about election fraud. One that will dwarf anything in 2004. People in Texas KNOW Delay could never win again. A win would be proof positive that corruption has taken over the voting process.

republican district decided to give "the Hammer" one more chance!

If you don't yet believe it yet... that republican owned electronic voting machines (ES&S, Diebold) aren't stealing elections, you won't believe it when Delay steals it this time...

Because the right-wing media will tell you it was the democrats supporting the Gays wanting to steal your children and feed them to the alien atheist that got Delay reelected!!!

How many believed the media when they said it was gay marriage and abortion issues that got Bush "reelected"...hardly anyone batted an eye except for stupid democrat's who figured, gee, maybe we should move more to the right to get elected...

I was with Karl Rove on that one, laughing my ass off!!!
