Righty "nightmare scenario"
So, I got this article via Google-news alerts scanning for Impeachment and Bush...this one isn't exactly what I'm keeping track of, but I'd like to pass it along anyways.

This is a clip of the fear-mongering that is definitely too asinine and stupid to deserve a response outside of this site. But, perhaps this could be dissected as a perfect example of taking the common mis-conceptions laid out by the republican machine, playing up the themes of fear, using their standby handy lightening rods such as Moore, Kennedy, Dean....the UN...now Sheehan...the list goes on. But what this guy does is weave them all together and summarizing it with a totally insane end scenario of the blood of millions of American lives on Democrat hands.

  • "Follow through with this nightmare scenario. If Democrats regain control of Congress, they will move immediately to overturn everything Bush has accomplished during his first five years in office. Say goodbye to middle-class tax cuts. Say hello to massive Democrat-backed tax hikes. Say goodbye to steady job growth. Say hello to long unemployment lines. Say goodbye to mainstream judicial nominations. Say hello to more Ruth Bader Ginsburgs, the ACLU representative to the Supreme Court.

With Nancy Pelosi as Speaker of the House and Harry Reid as Senate majority leader in 2007, the cut-and-run brigade will abandon Iraq and Afghanistan. That will embolden our enemies. The reason 9/11 happened was that Bill Clinton failed to respond to a half-dozen terrorist attacks going back to the first bombing of the World Trade Center in 1993. Osama bin Laden sensed weakness in American leadership and struck on 9/11. Look for more attacks on U.S. soil if Democrats regain control of Congress."

    --break--

"Osama bin Laden emerges from his cave in Pakistan and leads an even bigger assault on U.S. interests. The war will spread to the oil-rich Gulf states. Militant Muslims will attempt to destroy Israel as well as seek revenge on Jordan and the United Arab Emirates, countries that have helped the U.S. in the war on terror."

3. And if Republicans win the elections...
-Thousands of young men and women will die in a poorly thought out war,

-more thousands will be abandoned and die because the president feels that a hurricane is a great time for a vacation,

-the rich-poor gap will explode to an obscene size,

-and our countries leaders will be regarded as laughing stocks by the rest of the world.

Oh wait, didn't that already happen?

*sigh*

What ever happened to sex scandals?

5. i'm fond of clip I guess
"The same crew that wouldn't accept the voters' will in the 2000 and 2004 presidential elections"

Sometimes I wonder if it's me not letting go of these perceived 'shenanigans' because i'm a crazy liberal college kida, or what....its just sometimes I still get a random list-serv e-mail about elections problems that just sends chills up my spine...that and checking out www.bradblog.com keeps me suspicious....for better or worse I guess.

4. you left out ----
Hillary personally coming to your house to get your guns, and bibles being outlawed, and Bill moving back into the white house just to have a little more intern hanky panky---Or Hillary can never become president because Bill will then have too much time on his hands to get into trouble--or that typical Republican fear---HEALTH CARE

7. Pieces like this are accepted by the Right Wingers as gospel.
In my experience, they don't expose themselves to any differing opinions. They just read stuff like this to see what they are supposed to think and they believe anything negative that they are told about liberals and Democrats. They don't welcome discourse, only rhetoric, and get all their information from Rush, Fox News, etc. which only reinforces their feelings of righteousness and ultimately makes them easier to control.

Jesus.

They really are insane. I can't believe this piece just flat out says, 'the terrorists will come again if Bush is impeached.' ACK.

9. Isn't that exactly what they said for Clinton's first budget?
America went on to experience the largest economic growth in history. These people have zero credibility. What have they ever been right about?
