Please DU this CNN Poll regarding outsourcing.
Edited on Fri Mar-03-06 12:25 PM by harlinchi
It asks:

Do the advantages of global trade outweigh the disadvantages of outsourcing?

As of the time of this post, results were not available; the results screen showed 0% for both yes and no.

Since this poll cries out for a bunch of 'no' responses, I'll wait and make sure my little 'no' gets registered.

It wasn't working a few seconds earlier. Whatever you did, thanks!

Still 35% yes to 65% no.

7. I couldn't get it to display, either!
valerief came to MY rescue! I'd hate to think CNN would manipulate the poll at its outset! They might at least have waited a bit!

10. A question to pull in ideologues
of free trade. Therefore the question is weighted to push those believing in "real" free trade to reluctantly concede the issue.

Single question polls can be so useless and deceptive. In the US situation there is nothing to support free trade, globalization or any other ideal as an argument to subordinate the pains of outsourcing. ALL work in harmony against all the people everywhere in the long run or short run. Globalization and free trade done with civic oversight and support for their best purposes toward progress and the common welfare will contain pain and shifting fortunes. Under the beneficent control of looters and cannibal corporations not only is the US worker suffering for nothing, the black hole is opening up for the entire human race. it appears that not only communism is rooted on a faulty appreciation of mankind, it's alter economic ego has it's devil's dues as well.

Perhaps the ideal of freed trade is just as illusory and doomed as communism. Left right and center there is no real solution and in the mix that really makes things work for the people and the supposed system any ideology is a dangerous self delusion, any pragmatism verging on corruption and blindness, any benefit vulnerable to be lost or stolen. With the current sublimation of democracy and feeble civil government, the quick decay of this disguised mess will be quick and unavoidable.

To frame a kneejerk question like CNN does is to promote jerkdom. Comfort in economic faith is a suicidal delusion, the horror of realizing the true picture has nowhere to turn.

13. Question now is "would your Congressman take a bribe"
Choices

1. Yes but the price is high.

2. Yes, for free meals.

3. No way.

I actually picked no way although generally I think most congresscritters would sell their constituents out for a free meal.

Problem is I'm in Rush Holt's district and he one of the good guys. Apart from being a good , progressive legislator, he's been a leader on the voting machine issue--if the Democrats had listened to him we very likely would be bitching about President Kerry today.
