Chicago Tribune endorses Tammy Duckworth
Edited on Fri Mar-03-06 07:01 PM by FogerRox
..... Democrats have a better candidate in Tammy Duckworth, a veteran of the Iraq war who has fresh and pragmatic views on trade, health care, taxes and other issues. Duckworth was an Army National Guard major when she was grievously injured in Iraq, losing both of her legs. She has some well-considered views on how the U.S. and Iraqis can finish the job there and bring American soldiers home. Duckworth is endorsed over Cegelis and Wheaton College professor Lindy Scott

1. gee the right wing trib endorses a democrat
then they`ll turn around and endorse the republican running against who ever wins the democrat nomination in the 6th..i guess cegelis should do everyone a big favor and withdraw from the race! i mean when the national party and the tribune endorsing duckworth there`s just no hope....

2. Not from there, but I read the Trib daily -
this is the first time I've seen 'em endorse a Dem. Aren't they usually pretty silent about Democrats? I know they chose * in '04, more shame to them. But the Swamp is a good read!

Duckworth sounds like a great candidate.

3. Primary endorsements only
I'll go back and check, but all of their other endorsements over the last few weeks have been primary endorsements only, backing both a Dem and a Repub in each race.

They won't make their overall endorsements until the fall,. when they usually do.

4. Their GE endorsements will be all Repubs
I think the last time they endorsed a Dem pres candidate was 1964. Any warm body the GOP throws against Tammy (or Christine) will get the nod for the GE.
