Prosecutor fired amid racism claims

BUFFALO, N.Y. - A Southern Tier prosecutor was fired yesterday over his attendance at a conference of "white preservationists."

Assistant District Attorney Michael Regan was terminated following an investigation by his boss, Allegany County District Attorney Terrence Parker, who said he had received numerous e-mails expressing concern about Regan's presence at a meeting of the New Century Foundation in northern Virginia last week.

The Anti-Defamation League says on its Web site that the group "promotes 'genteel' racism: pseudoscientific, questionably researched and argued articles that validate the genetic and moral inferiority of nonwhites and the need for racial 'purity.'"

Parker said, "It has become clear that his recent activities will continue to significantly disrupt and impair his effectiveness as an assistant district attorney."

rightfully he should have been fired....Now I wonder how many cases against minorities that he prosecuted and how many will have to be retried or thrown out?

I just don't know anymore....I feel threatened in my own country because I am black!! I didn't always feel this way!
