Bush's fundraising visit costs county money. Should DeWine reimburse
the sherriff?

President George Bush raised over $1 million at an Indian Hill fundraiser last week for Ohio Republican Sen. Mike DeWine -- and taxpayers should get some of it, Sherrif Simon Leis Jr. contends.

Leis wrote DeWine's campaign a letter Tuesday asking that the sheriff's department be reimbursed $7,421.54 for security services his deputies and department provided for Bush's Feb. 23 fundraiser.

The reason is that Bush was here only for a fundraising event and not to make an official visit.

"If the President appears and does a fundraiser but is also here on official business, we wouldn't bill them," Sheriff's spokesman Steve Barnett said.

I think this argument has merit. Can I also send a bill for the time I have to spend stopped in traffic because of his visit? Can KY send a bill for having State troopers shutting down the highway for the visit?

1. The RNC (or equivalent) is supposed to remiburse for "visits" like that.
I remember a lot of communities bitchin' about it in the last presidential election, with Fuckstick and Cheney constantly showing up at places, costing them shitloads of money, and showing up only on a fundraising and/or compaign purpose, and communities trying to get the RNC to reimburse them - as they are legally required to do - and never getting shit.

3. I don't even know what a canine core is.
Is that a pack of dogs? Bomb sniffers? Coke sniffers? Cuz it seems the last thing that Fuckstick would want around are a bunch of coke sniffin' dogs. :-)

Are tehy security dogs?
