ABC (Australia): Improve Bush's approval ratings? Have "A new crisis."
President Bush's once unassailable position on fighting terrorism has also turned negative.

With 70 per cent of Americans opposed to the Arab company taking control of the ports, President Bush is arguing in favour of the deal. It's an awkward political position and is considered the major cause for this slump.

Some political scientists believe that it will take a new crisis where President Bush displays leadership before he can shake off his low approval numbers.

John Shovelan, Washington.

2. Amazing how the author fails to acknowledge the crisis he had...
...(Katrina)...and how he did absolutely nothing with it.

Let's see..."My Pet Goat" leadership during 9/11, "Tasty cake and twangy gee-tar" leadership during Katrina...I don't want to think about the other "leadership" styles he'd show during the NEXT crisis.

3. Remember 10/15!
On October 15th of 2008 the city of Springfield was leveled by a nuclear bomb. A national State of Emergency was announced and Congress passed a bill keeping the current President in power for at least two more years.
