"Presidential Prayer Team" takes a not-so-subtle slap at New Orleans
Edited on Sun Mar-05-06 03:34 PM by Bush_Eats_Beef
As the City of New Orleans has now celebrated Mardi Gras and Ash Wednesday, pray that a spirit of humility and a desire to honor God in all things will sweep across this city—and our nation--throughout the season of Lent. Pray also for the continued efforts at restoration and rebuilding in the entire Gulf Coast region.

1. Warning
You need a warning on the picture. I understand what you are saying but you still need a warning. Peace

I'm not in the mood to warn anyone today...it would only piss me off.

6. I've seen far worse on television and those lack "advisory" warnings too.

4. "The Ensigns of Command"
For once I have to agree with that puerile and preachy star trek next generation show.

An impending catastrophy forces people to leave their planet.

The winning arguments are that people can make new traditions and nothing is forever. It is pointless to die defending things. For they would die defending what they had; and once slaughtered they and their things would be obliterated anyway.

I openly disagree with the concept New Orleans should be rebuilt. Especially when all the environmentalists shouting "polar caps melting; will raise sea levels" mean that future storms will make Katrina seem like a flick of sweat off one's brow by comparison.

And, fuck yeah, change ain't easy. But sometimes it's got to be done. :(

And I think we're all stuck in a rut, not wanting our turn at change. Who wants to change? Especially if you're a Taurus or an Aspie.

But life is better than death.

Or so I keep getting told.

Hmmm. Maybe I really am of a survivor mentality. Imagine that.

7. I 've about had enough with these people and their Bible...
And I'm about ready to snap.

Some guy called me at home yesterday and interrupted me while I was doing something.
He wanted to talk to me about how Jesus can help people who have suffered through a tragedy.

I told him that if he called me at home again, Jesus would have to help his family through a tragedy because I was going to shove his bible up his fucking ass.

And before I hung up I asked him if Jesus was helping 100k innocent Iraqis through their "tragedies".

The Presidential Prayer Team.

How fucking ridiculous is that?

The most unholy beast on the freaking planet has his own "prayer team".

What a twisted, sick, depraved concept.

8. That is disgusting
Presidential Prayer Team????????

What a laugh. Anyone who believes that Jesus was who he said he was would have left the BushCo apparatus a long time ago. These people are either so ignorant and benighted that they have no idea what they're praying for, or it's another sham straight from the bowels of Karl Rove.

I left one church over this issue. The combination of religious and political authority always yields up a brand of behavioral fascism among the flock that is dubious when viewed at a distance and appalling when confronted head-on. Never again.

Peace
PsA

10. Prayer suggestions for Presidential Prayer Team...
Edited on Sun Mar-05-06 05:12 PM by cornermouse
Pray that President and Laura Bush realize the absolute depth and breadth of harm that his policies and lack of action has caused this nation.

Pray that he finally understands and repents the neglect that he has shown and continues to show toward the Katrina victims and survivors.

Pray that he finally truly understands the amount of death and destruction his policies have wreaked in Iraq and in the ranks of our military and their families.

Pray that he understands how wrong he is to try to cut veteran's benefits.

Pray that Bush understands how much harm he has done to our children's future with the massive debt he has built up through a combination of continual tax cuts for the wealthy and unrestrained spending for unnecessary wars.

Pray that Bush sees the pain and misery caused by his attempts to destroy the existence of a safety net that has saved countless Americans when they were unable to fend for themselves.

Pray that Bush realizes that God does not approve of torture or those who approve a policy of torture, that in fact torture is about as anti-God as you can get.

Pray that Bush finally understands that he has sinned.

And finally pray that the Presidential Prayer Team gets a better understanding of who and what God is, and what he really wants from them...

11. And I'm sure these people would pray so hard for the Clintons
if Hillary was in the White House.

They would either quietly close down their operation, or "pray" for Clinton in a backhanded, doublecrossing way: "Oh we pray that President Clinton will flip-flop on abortion and stop being a heathen...", etc.
