Gen. Pace's Assessment On Iraq Questioned By Murtha!
Don't know if this has been posted, but just saw this from AP while checking C-Span Re: John Edwards. I saw the comments this morning by Pace and laughed aloud, but as usual figured it was just another SPIN job. That Murtha's reply has been so quick made me feel much better!

Thank you John Murtha, don't let them bully you! BTW Edwards will be on soon, one of my favorites!

PAULINE JELINEK, Associated Press Writer

WASHINGTON - The Pentagon's top general acknowledged Sunday that "anything can happen" in Iraq, but he said things aren't as bad as some say. "I wouldn't put a great big smiley face on it, but I would say they're going very, very well from everything you look at."

The comments drew criticism that Gen. Peter Pace is glossing over problems in the three-year-old U.S. campaign.

"Why would I believe him?" asked Rep. John Murtha (news, bio, voting record), D-Pa., a major critic of the Bush administration's handling of the war. "This administration, including the president, (has) mischaracterized this war for the last two years."

1. Thanks you, John Murtha, for staying
on them. Probably the most telling point that Rep. Murtha made was that this mess is diverting our resources, much to the pleasure of China, Iran and Al Qaeda.

2. Not To Be Crass, Nor Against The Fighting Soldiers....
BUT, I'm really getting tired of the "dog & pony" show that the military brass keeps putting on for THIS WH!

As a former military brat, I know they have to toe the line to some extent, but in reality... don't they care about the loss of life for their own??

They keep putting on the "smiley" face while too many die! Not just Americans, but far to many civilians and Iraqi soldiers too! They disgrace America by "banging the drums slowly" AND turning a blind eye to reality!
