Wolf Blitzer must be getting paid by this administration...
Has anyone seen him reporting from Dubai for about 3 days now? He's interviewing U.S. citizens who work for DPW, trying to show how excited the employees of the company are to show him how they check the cargo, talking to the CEO who is explaining how they are such good friends to Americans, and taking tours of the country showing us how "beautiful" it is. What's his deal?

1. CNN has to do something to offset Lou Dobbs
After all, even when the facts and the polls are heavily tilted against some hare-brained GOP initiative, CNN has to promote it or risk it's all important "access" to a bunch of lying liars and the lies they tell.

6. About that...
I thought Lou Dobbs said because he won't shut up about this, DPW has banned CNN from doing any interviews with anyone from their company? And then Wolf is there in Dubai? I don't get it.

13. DPW won't grant CNN interviews from its London HQ
Because of Dobbs, apparently CNN has to send someone to Dubai (you get the short straw, Leslie) because DPW won't do CNN stand-ups from their European HQ. At least, that's my understanding.

WASHINGTON, Feb 16 (Reuters) - United Arab Emirates-based media investment company Istithmar PJSC, through $2 billion in participation notes issued by UBS AG, now controls 2.39 percent of Time Warner Inc.'s (TWX.N: Quote, Profile, Research) stock and has hired one of Carl Icahn's entities as its advisor, according to a regulatory filing on Thursday.

The notes give Istithmar effective control over and economic exposure to over 109 million Time Warner shares, the filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission said.

Under the agreement, UBS does not have economic exposure or control over the shares.

21. I agree...this isa White-House sanctioned PR stunt...if I ever saw one...
This "Blitzer Does Dubai" theater, really is an abomination.

Blitzer is showing us how modern and lovely the city is (ooohhhh aahhhhhh), and he's demonstrating that this is a big city! Folks! This is not some stone-age town in the sand. Lookeee at the tall, tall buildings (oohhhhhh aahhhhh).

Wolf had the cameras pan to a shop that had a sign out front, "Wall Street Business" to showcase how Americanized and wonderful this town is. There's nothing to fear! They're just like us!

Wolfie also talked about how lavish many of the people in Dubai lived. He crooned about how extravagant things were in Dubai (oooohhhhhh aahhhhhh).

This is really sick. I'm personally insulted.

I do not need to be sold on Dubai--as if Wolfie is some kind of tour guide. Dubai may be a lovely city. Who cares.

We don't want their damn government controlling our ports.

Stop trying to sell us total shit!

After American bought the "Iraq as WMD" lies--they think we'll believe anything!

Jeez-the CEO of the company said he didn't even know what percentage of cargo was checked! I remember Wolf had Schumer on right after the CEO guy and Wolf asked Schumer if the CEO made him feel any better about the deal and he said NO-it made him feel MORE concerned that he wouldn't have those figures and he's the CEO. Wolf is covering this story in a positive light more than FAUX probably is!

60. So a story on Tookie Williams makes Wolf anti Bush?????
Edited on Wed Mar-08-06 01:54 PM by Dr Fate
It's telling that you dont hold up Wolf's Pre- Iraq war reporting or his ports deal reporting as an example of Liberal bias.

Just because RW bloggers dont like the way Wolf covered a Tookie Williams story does not mean Wolf is pro DEM or anti-Iraq war or anti ports deal.

Wolf reports Bush's lies as facts. All you have to do is look at his pre-Iraq war reporting to see that. Wolf also reported the SWiftboat vets lies as fact, and showed a photo-shopped, forged picture of Kerry with Jane Fonda.

Oh- but his story on "Tookie" somehow makes him anti Bush- uh- huh.

You are reaching to suggest that his repoting on Tookie Williams balances his Bush-friendly reporting on Iraq, Wire taps, "DEMs took $$ from Abramoff too" and now the ports deal.
