I constantly play devil's advocate to get my students to think and see multiple sides.

I also encourage them to register to vote, give blood, attend council meetings ect... They really don't know my politics because I am equally hard on all parties

I will find the lawyer (think Denny Crane, Alan Shore) with the biggest brassiest balls and take it all they way.

1. Heh heh...
Denny Crane, Alan Shore. I LOVE watching Alan go after the corrupt and complicit.

2. That kid would benefit from a teacher like you
He has obviously been taught some pretty one-sided neocon views at home. It would be enlightening for him to be your student.

3. From what I've seen in the news lately, passionate teachers get fired...
Don't change, just don't fully unpack either.

4. I have tenure and I am well respected by students and teachers and parents
I have parents calling me at home begging me to teach summer school so their child can take my classes.

5. Oh yes, the sweet caress of tenure...
I write comedy so I get fired about 8 to 10 times a year...er...the old 'we'll call you next season' line. Not fun. But of course looking at my colleagues and I, our BEST behavior would make any school cringe let alone hire us to any sort of tenure track position.

6. Tenure only makes me more confident
to be expressive and to play devil's advocate
