A thought about War with Syria
What if Iran is simply a smokescreen to hide the fact that the next immediate escalation of the war would be against Syria and not Iran as everyone is expecting.

This would have several obvious benefits one of them being the element of surprise of the American Public. Another being an obvious escalation of the war. And last Syria recently shifted reserves into Euros.

Syria has a lighter military, easier terrain, and does not have access to the strait.

Israel may be more willing to engage Syria given proximity under certain circumstances.

1. Why Syria?
Iraq is on the verge of a Civil War and about to be taken over by Iran. Iraq has much more oil fields than Saudi Arabia so it make more sense for the Oil mafia to take Iran out.

6. Attack on Syria makes a lot of sense from the Military's point of view
The infiltration routes from Syria into Iraq are much
easier and shorter than mountainous border between Iran and Iraq.
Most of the weapons used by the insurgents are coming from Syria.

All of Saddams henchmen fled to Syria after fall of Baghdad
to Americans. Almost none fled to Iran. Therefore it follows
that Saddams money by the truckloads of cash went to Syria.

An Iraqi General from Saddam's army now in the US has confirmed
that truckloads of cash and weapons were sent to Syria in
anticipation of Americans moving in.

Only reason the neocons have not moved on Syria yet is due to
the political fallout. Once the November elections are out of
the way, I expect Syria will be attacked and a regime change
similar to Iraq will take place.

Iran is next, but the neocons are aiding Irani citizens hoping
for an internal revolt first.
