Would you be embarrassed if you were a Republican ?
And you had voted for Bush? Or would you be angry? Or would your dumbass still be proud? :)

3. Embarrassed? Hell, I'd be suicidal!
As a Republican, I would have to see that my economic doctrines had only enriched the rich and caused misery for the rest, that my fondness for an aggressive foreign policy had made the rest of the world more dangerous (as well as angry with us), that my party's budgetary policies have guaranteed a lower standard of living for subsequent generations, that our constitution is in ruins, our political process corrupted and even our vote compromised if not rendered meaningless.
(Only as a Democrat can I find hope in this situation:-)

6. Have you watched WJ lately?
I set my TV to turn on at 5am every morning. I have been waking up to the most pissed off Republicans you can imagine! 4 out of 5 callers on the Repug line are PISSED OFF cause they just figured out they have been lied to all this time.

It's uplifting, I tell ya! :)

9. I would feel betrayed, if I were a sincere conservative & Christian...
I would feel betrayed, if I were a sincere conservative & a Christian who took Jesus's teachings to heart.

We know there are a lot of Republicans like that out there, and as the full extent of Bush's crimes becomes apparant, those folks must feel appalled. Even if they view what has happened as "mistakes" and not crimes, the consequences have been devastating.

Look at how flamingly pissed off Lou Dobbs has become over the betrayal of conservative principles.

Look at the poll numbers. No matter how they are spun, Bush is bottoming out even in his own party. The only ones not abandoning Bush at this point are the completely blind, religious fanatics, and corporate CEOs. They may continue to wield influence, but their actual numbers are small.

If I were a Republican? These days I'm glad I'm not.

Hekate

10. There are still plenty of proud Republicans where I live.
Just about one out of every 15 cars still has a Bush/Cheney bumpersticker.

11. I'd be embarrassed, but not b/c voted for Bush
(Jeez, it's hard to even type that!)

I'd be embarrassed if I were Republican because it would mean I was trying to "be like everybody else" or because I believed I was in the top 2% of wealthy Americans or that I would "soon" get there. Also, I'd be a selfish asshole who only cares about myself and maybe the immediate needs of a handful of people around me. Plus, since I'm in the South, it would more than likely mean I'm a racist.
