"Ever since he has been in office it has been one disaster after another"
Edited on Wed Mar-08-06 09:46 AM by underpants
Link below has audio on NPR report yesterday on Social Conservatives from Florida.

At the 6:00 mark.

Linda Wertheimer clearly did a biased job on them as she kept asking about W's performance that would appear to anyone else as flying in the face of being a "good honest Christian man". None of those concerns stopped this crowd. They don't support W's immigration policies but they need illegals to harvest their winter strawberries.

The quote in the subject line is from the end of the report in which one woman says that W is blamed for Katrina and W is blamed for 9/11 (really? I thought he took credit for it) and that "ever since he has been in office it has been one disaster after another". I laughed out loud when I heard that-too true.

1. Wertheomer should go work for FOX. It's her and a few others
that have caused me to stop supporting NPR.

5. After hearing them I am convinced we will never reach them
they sound like enablers of alcoholics

Their world view is extremely narrow and they appear comfortable with it(B* could kill a puppy in front of them and they would say the puppy deserved it)all they needed to know was that B* prays

They want to believe that - if they ever found out he didn't pray thatwould shatter them

9. You are probably right but here is what I don't get
Okay I know that W is supposedly born again and all that but where do they get this "he is a good strong man a man of faith he prays alot" stuff? Is it this mysterious supposed e-mail chain that is hinted at? Where do they get this stuff from? How is it so entrenched?

11. It probably is the greatest rightwing myth ever perpetrated
it just polls through the roof for them

On the other hand I have talked to the husband of a friend of mine who happens to be minister and he said that B* sounds to him like someone who doesn't have a good "grounding"in the Bible - seems self taught and is only passionate about the parts he likes. Some say there are cafeteria Catholics this man says B* is similar to them when it comes to Bible passages

12. I guess Fox News gets the word out to them
Since they so strongly favor Fox News (mentioned prevalently in the piece).

I don't know there must be code words or something.

6. Unfortunately we have three more years of tragedies and disasters.......
to deal with. Who would ever think the office of the president would inflict so much disaster and pain.

7. The only good news that came out of this NPR piece...
was they only comprise about 11% (?) of the population.

I was driving home (SW Ohio) from West Virginia when I heard her comment and burst out laughing. They are total idiots and very scary! They are beyond help.

10. Jon Stewart last night
Paraphrased

"for someone who prays about everything he sure isn't very good at it"

this was about the pre-Katrina videotapes.
