Is Fox News the Govt. news channel?
I visited a military installation yesterday and today. I was in a waiting room both times where one channel is played on the TV, non-stop: Fox News. I asked a clerk why they always have it on Fox News, and she said they've been told to leave it on that channel. So, I guess we now have a Govt. news/propaganda channel.

2. Party news channel.

But the Republican Party is the government, replacing and absorbing the government.
(And the military is increasingly adopting the role of "armed wing" of the Party. There are Big Plans in this direction, rest assured.)

3. If I had to sit with FOX in the room all day ...
I would find some way to disable the TV. They would have to keep buying TV's cause I would keep killing them.

9. My bank used to have Pox "news" on its in-branch TVs all day.
I complained. A couple of times. To the individual teller and then also to the branch manager on duty that day.

Soon enough, I go in there and what do I see on the TV monitors? CNN! I commented to the teller about this, AND to the branch manager. Thanked them for NOT having Pox on. Added that it offended me because I'm a retired reporter and I find their slanted, biased version of "news" UTTERLY OFFENSIVE, and an affront to everything I believed in and the code under which I labored as a professional for about a quarter century. They pay attention to things like that.

Every so often, when I go in, and I see CNN on there, I mention it again and thank them for not putting Pox on.

The first time I noticed a change, and I brought it up to the branch manager, she told me they switched channels because "there were complaints." Probably mostly mine, I don't know of anyone else visiting that branch who would actually speak up about this and make an issue out of it. Doesn't matter. I did my part. And I didn't give up when one complaint didn't have any effect. And something worked.

Don't assume, for an instant, that your voice or opinion or complaint doesn't matter. I don't know that mine was the only complaint. Maybe it was. Maybe mine was the 12th or 13th, or the 2nd or 3rd. Whatever. I do know that whatever input I offered at the bank in this case was enough to influence whoever channel-changed that TV. Maybe mine was the complaint that added up to enough complaints from others that they decided to do something about it. Maybe I was the only one complaining. I don't care. All I know is that the TVs at the bank don't run Pox "news" anymore. At least whenever I've been there in the last few months, and I go at random times during random days, weekdays and Saturdays.

As Class Warrior likes to say here all the time - NGU - Never Give Up.

14. That would have been my point
Cheney didn't go to NBC, CBS or ABC when he needed a sympathetic ear to blubber about how he shot-gunned a man in the face, he went to Faux and its Fluffer-in-Chief Brit Hume. He knew that Hume wouldn't badger him with a lot of unwelcome questions about just how Cheney came to shot-gun a man in the face, where folks were standing, or how much alcohol had been consumed that day. Cheney knew Hume wouldn't evince too much curiosity or skepticism about a transparently bogus tale of concern for the man he shot-gunned in the face when, after bagging his alleged good friend Whittington, Cheney promptly retired to the estate manse for a steak dinner and more drinks.

13. It is the GOP Channel
If they were only conservative....

My brother, the unemployed Republican, goes over to mom's house and takes cnn and msnbc off her presets so all she has on cable news is the GOP's station.

I gotta find that guy a job.
