Cafferty just read something from a viewer that nailed the

2. To the effect that this was a structured deal for the Republicans to

distance themselves from an unpopular President before the November elections.

That's what I meant by "Potemkin dispute."

8. Like the villages Potemkin built that were just false fronts, with
nothing behind them, for the Tsarina to see from her train.

Potemkin village

NOUN: Something that appears elaborate and impressive but in actual fact lacks substance: “the Potemkin village of this country's borrowed prosperity” (Lewis H. Lapham).
ETYMOLOGY: After Grigori Aleksandrovich Potemkin, who had elaborate fake villages constructed for Catherine the Great's tours of the Ukraine and the Crimea.

7. I have thought about that
Sometimes I wonder if it's for money, that deal or both. But at first they all came out against it but now more people are getting on the bandwagon including Frist.

10. It is a fake "DeBushification" program for the November
elections, after which they'll all be Bushbots again. Dubyah doesn't have to run for anything.

13. I said that 2 weeks ago and was flambed for it
(Slightly flamed!)

When I heard that a UK Co had it and was transferring it to the UAE, I smelled something, like I just stepped into a big pile of Rove. I don't agree with ANY foreign country doing it, but I'm suspicious of the way it became a big deal when it's been ignored up to now.

The other ploy I see going on is making abortion front and center again by trying to make it illegal in a few backwater states the repukes own lock stock and barrel.

I think we're seeing campaign 2006 shaping up before our eyes. We need to fight back smart, not knee jerk our way to irrelevance.

5. That's really giving them a hell of a lot of respect!
No matter how screwed up things are, there is this "Chauncy Gardner" belief that it's all on purpose.

12. I think they would prefer to stick together. They want unity in
everything. There is political capital in giving the impression that they are all powerful. They want us to give up - give in. Especially in the Senate and House.

They admitted that one of the reasons for the all out effort to impeach Clinton was to get even for Nixon. They are extremely loyal.

By they I mean the their attack generals and manipulators all the way down to their blindfolded lemmings.

They intimidate their own. Why would Snowe cave in time after time.

On something as important as a quality investigations of NSA - they cave.

Maybe it will change with the port deal, I doubt it.

Republicans march in lock-step with a precision that matches Hitlers' soldiers.

14. From a post a posted a couple of hours ago...
Congress will have a deal worked out by next week allowing Dubai to have the ports as long as they hire an American shell company or something, but they'll get the ports. This is all a big fucking charade for sheeple. "We're tougher on security than YOU are!" Then they'll find a way to claim their "strength" on Port Security is what got them their election bump.

I also didn't realize that was the meaning of Potemkin. Thanks for edumacatin me!
