You don't have to agree with me, but if you do, I think the time has come to express your thoughts and feelings to the DNC about our Senate race as I have done below. To: AliceGermond@dnc.org Cc: HowardDean@dnc.org Date: Wed, 8 Mar 2006 11:51:45 -0800 Subject: We will not accept Cantwell Dear Ms. Germond and Dr. Dean: Do you know that everytime you run the crab feed ad for Maria Cantwell on Seattle's Air America radio, a Washington State Democrat rolls up their sleeves to go to work for her Democratic challenger Mark Wilson? Cantwell did not work to filibuster Alito, and we all know her no vote on Alito was meaningless. We hold her personally responsible for putting Roe in jeopardy. Her 'yes' vote on the PATRIOT Act was a travesty. Virtually no convictions have occurred as a result of our losing our civil liberties. The day she was quoted in the Seattle Post-Intelligencer as having "no regrets" on voting to go to war in Iraq, the gauntlet was thrown down to the real Democrats in Washington State--the ones who understand what this war has truly cost this country. Her fight to preserve the ANWR refuge is a pitiful sop that we see through. We know that supporting the use of military force to secure our energy needs has led to the permanent irradiation of every place our military has used DU. Our social safety net is being shredded because of the war. Our military is being destroyed. Our standing in the world is ruined. The war is the best recruiting tool the enemies of America have ever had. A solid majority of the American people are against the war. Why are you supporting a candidate who is in the clear minority? We are taking up the gauntlet. Mark Wilson is building a truly viable campaign with the grassroots energy that Cantwell has squandered and will never be able to buy. Mark stands for us, not the corporate DLC interests that are undermining democracy and ruining this country. We will not have Maria Cantwell and her support for the war and the PATRIOT Act shoved down our throats. She has divided Washington State Democrats so deeply, and the contention is so strident, you may very well see a Republican take the seat in November. Real Democrats will be heard in September. I suggest you start listening.
