Former Prostitute Loses Texas House Race

DALLAS - A former gay prostitute garnered more than 45 percent of the vote in the Democratic primary but fell short in his bid for the party's nomination for the Texas House.

Dallas actor and salesman Tom Malin acknowledged last month that he had worked as a gay prostitute when contacted by The Dallas Morning News. Some of Malin's endorsements were withdrawn after the revelation.

Retired salesman Jack Borden, the winner in Tuesday's election, received nearly 55 percent of the vote in the two-man race, according to unofficial results. Borden will face Republican Dan Branch in the November election.
