Still a SKUNK after all of these years!

Chris Matthews — still a skunk after all these years

I gave up on Chris Matthews way back in late 2000, during the presidential recount controversy. Like a lot of other political junkies, I was glued to the television set during those fateful 35 days in November and December, starting with election day, Nov. 7, and continuing through to Dec. 13, when Al Gore conceded following the Supreme Court’s disgraceful decision in Bush v. Gore.

At first, the major networks were all over the story — lots of talk of constitutional crisis and all that. But as the drama wore on, they naturally moved back to less civic, and more profitable, fare: The only option left to the true junkie was cable news, CNN, MSNBC and, of course, good old Fox — on second thought, let’s not even go there. So I spent a lot of time staring at Matthews (not something I would recommend) who not only left absolutely no doubt as to where he stood on the controversy — 100% with Bush — but who did so in an insufferable, contemptuous and arrogant fashion.
<snip>

I couldn't have said it any better myself!

Peace.

1. But he smells so good to his handlers
How can people like him with access to cameras and microphones possibly look at themselves in the mirror after a "hard" days work? Their only job is to lie and prop up criminals.

2. "He's a stinker" for sure. Great post. Recommend that thought!

What a loathsome creature he is. He's rude, he's stupid, and he's a crook. That's what we called "the Trifecta" in NYC.

Matthews is time winner in the race to the bottom of the journalistic slag heap.

You go fooj!

Hope all is well!

3. He's not only a stinker - he's also a spitter
I am tired of his spittle-filled speeches.

4. Sounds like me!
Another thing I discovered in all those long and painful hours of Matthews watching, by the way, was that he’s an untalented little prick, a bully and an unjustified egomaniac. He’s a skunk. And the truth is he turned my stomach.

And I swore him off for life, not coming back even during his brief moment of redemption growing out of his opposition to launching the War in Iraq. A skunk is still a skunk, even when his tail happens to be pointed in a direction away from you for a time.

5. I had the same experience in 2000. Our house had burned down and
we were staying in a suite hotel during that time, with limited channel choices, and MSNBC covered the recount more than the other stations we could get.

I can remember having a sick feeling in my stomach every time Matthews opened his mouth.

It wasn't just the prejudice and anti-Gore BS that got me, it was the absolute relish with which he delivered that crap.

Boy, is he impressed with himself.

6. I wrote him a letter and told him that he should be ashamed
of what he has allowed himself to become.

Peace.

7. The fact he calls his wife "my Queen Kathleen"
indicates that he's "King Chris." His ego knows NO BOUNDS -- no wonder he drools all over BraindeadLeader. They should go slap towels at each other, those friggin' frat boys ...

10. Oh, that Queen stuff is cringefying! That's what you call female cats,
and I always got a mental whiff of a litterbox every time he said that.

He is just SO awkward.

9. That's my story as well....the 2000 Florida recount Media debacle
left very little doubt to me who the media was rooting for, and it wasn't Al Gore.
