Statement by Senator Ted Kennedy on Dubai’s Decision to Divest Ports Deal

Today, Senator Edward M. Kennedy released the following statement on DP World’s decision to divest Ports deal:

“This is a positive development, but doesn’t change the fact that the White House arrogantly attempted to contract out our national security and has failed to end the glaring and unconscionable vulnerabilities at our ports. It’s time for this Administration to finally get serious about homeland security. The review process for such deals must be capable of preventing them from going to any country with a questionable past on terrorism. And the Administration must assure the American people that our security isn’t for sale.”
