Does anyone think the Plame case is going any further than Libby?

Dealing with him is taking forever, but now I'm wondering whether the whole thing is just stalled indefinitely and may just go away. It is starting to look like Bush**-Rove/Cheney will be out of office bbefore Fitzgerald makes any conclusions.

Watch and wait. Fitzgerald is a master and our system of law and order and accountability are at stake. He's not going to rush because people are impatient.

We just need to hang in there, do our parts locally and nationally for a better world and trust Fitz to do his. Everything in his background that I have read and heard about so far says that he will.

2. Fitzgerald may be stalling

and hoping either public opinion turns away from this administration even more than it is now (although it's hard to think Cheney's 18% approval rating is saving him) or hoping someone will come up with a compromise to save this administration. This has dragged on so long with so little to show for it that I think damage control is the name of the game, not justice.

especially when the defendant(s) do their best to slow it down and the defendant(s) are the White House.

She was the one whose life was endangered, and irreversibly changed, as well as the lives of her covert colleagues. Valerie Plame needs to file a HUGE lawsuit - THEN we'll get the ball rolling.

Fitzgerald has all year to wrap it up. In the past two weeks he has procured 250 new emails 1600 said were gone forever. Those red hot emails implicate Rove, Libby, Cheney and other WHIG members. The court denied Libby his greymail defense and that validates Fitzgerald. The VP is caught between 18% approval numbers and his former chief of staff who either complies or starts a trial. The CIA says they are not going to help Libby out with top secret records either.

Fitzgerald is still investigating and has a GJ on call. It is going rather well behind the scenes and give Fitz credit for trying the case(s) in the courtroom and not the phoney baloney press. Please remember the free US "press" is deeply immersed in The Leak. There is a need to be silent on the presstitue's part because so many of the media whores are in it up to their bush propaganda hairdos. The best is yet to come.

Justice is slow.... but I fear after all of this time the only thing he has is Libby not telling the truth, and I am afraid there is a chance Libby may even walk. I hope I am wrong but my hopes are not too high....

12. Fitz is one of the few I still have any faith in.

I live in Illinois. Google our former Governor Ryan. It took Fitz a long time, but he got that one. The trial is just wrapping up now.

This is how he works. He is slow and meticulous. It is the only way to keep these crooks from wriggling off the hook.

especially when you have the kind of attorneys that Libby has. Any local criminal court in the country would have already tried and convicted the guy long ago. And they try to tell us that trial lawyers are the problem!

15. They're not out for another three years

In the meantime, the movement on this case is slow and quiet, but it's happening. You might want to acquaint yourself with firedoglake (www.firedoglake.blogspot.com) if you think there's nothing happening. They have followed every twist and turn in this case, offer amazing analysis, and continue to be the gold standard for all things CIA Leak Case related.

You know something? He gets one chance. ONE. Anyone who seriously wants justice in this case would rather he took his sweet time, interviewed witnesses, gathered facts, and investigated until his case is airtight. There is nobody else right now that is willing (or able,) to do this. Imagine how much fun his job is. He's outplaying, outwaiting and outlasting people who think they're above the law and above any type of accountability for their actions. What's his reward for doing all this? I read an article in one of the Chicago papers several months back in which Patrick Fitzgerald said (paraphrased,) to his staff that they were "screwed" no matter what they did in this case. Would you like to know that your actions will be scrutinized and criticized for the next 20 years, no matter how this turns out?

We're also not dealing with Kenneth Freaking Starr this time. Our guy is not giving daily press conferences at the base of his driveway to hear himself talk. For the first time in 130 years, a member of the White House executive staff was indicted. I think it's a taste of what's to come. His office has spent a minute fraction of what Starr spent over his eight-year investigation. We already have more than a stained blue dress, don't we?

I'm willing to sacrifice instant gratification for justice. Valerie Plame and her destroyed network deserve justice. We all deserve justice for the fact our national security was compromised for a political payback.
