Dubai issued a Blackmail demand and Bush is paying up -- with OUR money.

If you have any doubt that Bush bent (over) to Blackmail, you just need to read Bilkey's statement.

They tell us their "decision is based on an understanding that DP World. . . will not suffer economic loss."

(Oh? Who is party to this "understanding"? And who will insure that outcome?)

They tell us they'll "work with" (plunder) "the U.S. Treasury Department" to see that securing U.S. ports doesn't tend to eat into their profits.

How could this be anything but a Blackmail demand?

They've already summoned Wolf Blitzer to do a PR "Blitz" over the weekend, appropriated a U.S. Senator to be their spokesmodel, and now they want the U.S. Taxpayer to foot the bill for it all.

2. This decision came 1 day after the British courts OK'd the deal. If

they were so concerned, why didn't they just cancel the deal on MOnday? Transfer operations means what? They still own the company, but someone else will run it? And if they are going to sell it to another company, how long will it take? Weeks? Months? Decades? Lots of words here that a lot of people are talking about but no one can say what exactly is going on.

It would be nice if the public heard something about how Bush conspired with a foreign government to rip off the American people and save his ass, all at the same time!! What a deal!!

They probably don't plan to soak us for more than a billion, but you know, a billion here, a billion there, pretty soon you're talking about REAL money.

5. What's so corrupt is that Bush is paying off a private corporation

DP World may be owned by the royal family, but it is still a private corporation. Bail outs of critical U.S. corporations that ought to be public services anyway is bad enough, but at least when that is done, it goes through Congress (our voice) first. On this deal, Bush is bailing out his own ass -- an abuse of power.

At least the India deal is intended to boost non-proliferation -- a common value and a more worthy applicaton of U.S. power/wealth. (But I'm not up on the details, so would like to hear about it's illegal)

Savng Bush's ass and lining the pockets of the Ahu Dubai royal family is most certainly NOT a common value or a worthy application of our dollars. And paying off a private corporation that ought to simply be losing the contract with us is just plain corrupt.
