I view it as a last, desperate, pointless effort by a dying group of neocons.

3. The last one introduced in Louisiana

was in 92. The Governor, a dem, vetoed it. The Legislature overturned his veto but the law was overturned by the Supreme Court. The are dying a very hard death.

2. Rep. Tim Burns filed the bill

A bill that would make it a crime for a doctor to perform an abortion, a duplicate of a state law declared unconstitutional by the federal courts 14 years ago, was filed Thursday by a St. Tammany lawmaker for consideration in the legislative session that begins March 27.

Rep. Tim Burns, R-Mandeville, filed House Bill 132 that would permit abortions only to save the life of the mother and in cases of rape and incest. It also would allow the procedure to "preserve the life or health" of the fetus or to remove a stillborn fetus.

The person performing the abortion, but not the woman who undergoes the procedure, would face at least one and up to 10 years in jail, a minimum fine of $10,000 and a maximum fine of $100,000.

They have no fear of doing this since they have a stacked SCOTUS. I truly think that this coming election is even more important than the last one. Without a Democratic majority, there is no way we can stop anything * and his ilk want. He is almost ruling by decree.
