Carlyle Group buys modular building company
these rich fecks are everywhere! Wonder if this means they sold the modulars for Katrina recovery??

snip...

We expect this trend to accelerate, particularly with government customers, as they seek to realize the significant advantages, in terms of both cost and speed, of manufactured buildings," he said in a statement.

Comark, founded in 1989, supplies custom modular buildings to the federal government, public school districts and commercial customers across the United States, employing 500 people at locations in Texas, California and North Carolina.

Carlyle said in a statement that Comark sells more commercial modular structures to the U.S. government and military than any other manufacturer.

1. Lots of barracks building,
Comark is one of the nation’s leading manufacturers of modular barracks buildings for the United States military. We’ve built over 500,000 SF of new barrack space in the past three years alone. Our military barrack buildings are designed to withstand rigorous use. Although they are relocatable by design, they are quality engineered to last.

3. The commercial modular building industry is about to explode
I'm involved with a building project involving several dozen semi-trailer sized "modules" that will be lined up and stacked. After the exterior is bricked, you won't even know it was built with modules. The mods are built in a factory, with most of the interior electrical, plumbing, and drywall work finished. Keeps those nasty union tradespeople from cutting into your profits.
