1. "Business as usual"
"Bandaid fixes for yuppies"

"Go along to get along"

"Free trade is great"

"Jobs? What jobs?"

3. Hopefully the DEMS have something besides
just trudging along. This the door they needed opened.

4. We have lots of messages
we just need to get our leaders to speak on the Dem side more consistently.

we are:

For the people of America (the vast masses of us: the poor and the middle class and former middle class)
For clean government
For peace
For fiscal sanity
For fairness

It's not that complicated, we just have to get back to "Of the people, by the people, for the people" and obeying the Constitution.

5. I hope our plan is not...
"Hate Bush!" and little else. I am pretty sure that everyone knows we hate him and that did not work to get our guy elected. We need to move on from what has not worked. If "torture" has not resonated by now, it won't anytime soon either. The Valerie Plame affair is too technical for it to be the catalyst for a groundswell of support for our side.

We need to move on to something that is not so emotion based but can yield results we can point to.

I have no love of *, but the "Hate Bush" strategy has been done to the point where it is parodied and people actually find it funny when is. Not what we need.

11. I'm not sure that there's anything "technical" about the Plame case
When I explained it in plain English, in 25 words or less-- that the Bush administration revealed the identity of an American secret agent in order to get back at her husband-- I swayed several usually-Republican voters to Kerry. Even very simple people know treason when they see it.

6. Get our candidates elected in November 2006
Someone in Dem leadership in DC needs to get a little ass kicking until they all come up with a unified message, at least.

Lazy basitds.

7. I think the Democratic Party has lots of polling that show they
don't have to do a thing. The repukes are beating themselves. The best thing the Dems have going for them is the crooked nature of the repukes. They had the executive branch, the legislative branch, the judicial branch, and most of the press. They still couldn't play right. They had to lie, cheat and steal. It truly is amazing.

8. The plan, audio and summaries.
Scroll down under the audio for more.

http://www.democrats.org/agenda.html

For the plan for Iraq, look up Laurence Korb plan, Center for American Progress.

Dean repeats these 5 points in 30 seconds almost every time he is on TV:

"One: American jobs that will stay in America, using energy independence to generate those jobs.

Two: a strong national defense based on telling the truth to our citizens, our soldiers and our allies.

Three: Honesty and integrity to be restored to government.

Four: A health care system that works for everybody just like they have in 36 other countries.

Five: a strong public education system so we can have optimism and opportunity back in America."

12. I agree. On the Skinner thread there was a post about polls.
I can't recall who posted it, but they listed the results of polls on key issues where we've got the winning side.

Things like full health care, prescription drug equity, and a higher minimum wage.

13. The plan here seems to be to attack Hillary Clinton
Funny how DU would attack a Democratic Senator running for re-election. Same tired meme. She's collecting money for 08. Crap. Schumer had like 37 million in the bank left over and he used it well.

14. For right now...keep our powder dry...
The Republicans are killing themselves. There is no use getting in the way of that. Coming up with some Democratic "Contract with America" now would only give the Republicans something to rally around too far out from the election. That kind of cohesive platform needs to be unveiled closer to the election

16. I've heard that too many times.
They're not doing themselves any favors, but left entirely to their own devices, the GOP *will* regroup and present a united front by the time we get around to using any of our bone-dry powder.

18. If they are "ripping holes in themselves"...?
why do we need to do anything at this time? What's wrong with standing back and enjoying the show? However, I do know that the people will expect some constructive agenda from the Democrats before the November elections.

Oh, and for reaaally winning, pull all ads that the republicans don't like when they air. That's the winning ticket.
