What is a censure going to do?
Fom the reading I have done it seems like a censure is a "Congressional reprimand--the political equivalent of a strongly-worded letter." I understand that it is an attempt to force our reps to finally voice whether they will stand with Bush or are opposed to him. Is that a correct assumption? How is this going to play out? It seems like a rather informal, unorganized process. I hope this works as a first/second step, even though Conyers already started this process.

UNTIL the house is no longer under control of an opposition party... that said, it will force Congress critters to finally take a stand, and we will finally be able to figure out who is with us and who is not

4. And that is the part of Feingold's move that I like the best. We will
have hard evidence on who's with us and who's AGAINST us. There won't be anymore of this bullshit hedging, equivocating, or weasling.

The quislings in the party keep using the excuse that they want to do what's best for the country. Right now what's best for the country is to stand up to the bush** administration and put a halt to their treasons. Until November, we can't go for impeachment. We can try, but it's a futile but noble gesture. But Feingold can force the dems to either shit or get off the pot.

2. It's a start.
It puts people on the record. It gets the conversation started. It breaks through the media-bullshit-consensus. It is a start.

3. Takes official action against this pResident outta the arena of tin foil
and into main stream. They can't write off censure like they write off dissent. And it makes it more likely average Americans who are against the malAdministration, but afraid of speaking out and looking like radicals WILL START SPEAKING OUT EVEN MORE!

It's a good thing. We need to keep in mind that these things are done in stages.

9. Forces Hillary (and others) into tight spot
Latest CW is that the only (or at least best) way to beat Hillary is to clear out the also-rans quickly so that the ABHers can coalesce on those one or two main competitors. So to the extent that Hillary is tempted to poo-poo or ignore this to gain moderate cred/stick it to a potential opponent, she is giving Feingold a great opportunity to become That Guy. This would be a clear winner of an issue for Feingold in the primaries and the caucuses. He could absolutely pound anyone that voted against censure because the caucuses and primaries won't exactly be filled with voters wanting to take it easy on Bush in the name of WOT. Meanwhile, Feingold gets extra ballsy-maverick credit.

This could be a brilliant move by Feingold.

10. You Read This Exactly as I do.. Feingold was Brilliant and Courageous
given the equivicators on the WOT/IRAQ war, Domestic Spying etc.

I was fucking proud of Feingold, and it's exactly what SOMEBODY in the Senate had to do - and by gawwd HE DID!

Gettin on the Bus with Russ!
