Republican Mea Culpas
otherwise titled Politically Prudent Parting

It's just a little too late to have finally
woken up and smelled the frijoles burning in
this country and a little too politically
convenient for these "conservatives" in
an election year to now separate themselves
into conservative compartments.

I'll believe the real concern of some Republicans
when Americans see not just words but real actions by
the Majority in Congress to fix (in a good way)
the huge deficits by rolling back permanent
tax cuts. I'll believe this is not just
political parting of the ways in an election
year by addressing an unwieldy health care system,
corporate wealthfare, justice for some but not
all and an administration that ignores science and
embraces religious voo doers as a experts on
the environment. I'll believe conservatives when they
fire every incompetent relative in this administration
who in real life would never have been hired in
the first place.

I might believe their words if conservatives start telling the
truth about this administration's countless lies and their
own complicity in carrying water these five
plus years while watching this country's breakdown.

This is an administration in which we've had to
read their hips, not their lying lips. Why would we
now give those who have benefited from Bush laws
and largess a free pass?

Let 'em earn it the old-fashioned way.

1. my sister says how dare they say he's not a conservative
He ran and was endorsed by them as a "compassionate conservative" Methinks their
outrage is related to the poll numbers, I too would believe a tax cut roll back but
it's not going to happen, and even if it does, it's too little, too late.

3. If they fired every incompetent relative in this admin.
they could/would start with bush. The repubs were so hard up to find a repub candidate in 2000 to run for pres. they decided to go with name identification, daddies. bush2 was pretty much an unknown that was Real friendly, you know, not stiff like Gore. Makes a lotta sense, sarcasm.
