Long term Marriages are Complicated/Certainly Bill & Hillary fit into that
Edited on Sun Mar-12-06 06:05 PM by KoKo01
Watching MSNBC's disgusting "chop shop" review of Bill & Hillary juxtaposed with last nights Chimp & Druggie......I know that it's just the usual SPIN from the WHORE MEDIA.

But, what jumped out to me about the "Bill & Hillary" piece was how CONTROVERSIAL they ARE and have always been.

A good Marriage of many Years has it's ups and downs. Certainly not to the extent of Bill & Hillary where being accused of "affairs" on both sides seems to "cloud issues" but compared to that "put up job marriage" of Chimp & Laura even MSNBC and their "chop shop editors" had to deal with REALITY.!

If you want Women's Issues...Hillary & Bill as a "team" are your dish for the night...and if you want "CENTRIST POLICIES" then Bill & Hillary are your CHOICE FOR '08.

That the Right Wing HATES HILLARY is obvious in "retrospect" from watching that disgustingly biased MSNBC "piece." I think we need to dig further...

(and, I say this as a FAR LEFTY...who things that maybe Hillary might just be "A...GOOD...THING!"

As LONG AS WE HOLD HER "FEET TO THE FIRE" and MAKE HER PUT AL GLORE and TIPPER into POSITIONS THAT WOULD RESPECT THEIR STRENGTHS!

I still hope GORE runs....I will work for him...but I think there's a possibility that the "Clinton Marriage" might just win.

And I HATE DYNASTIES!!!!!!! :puke: But, without Dems in there...then what do we Lefties still fight against? The Bushies have "Shut us Down!"

2. Any Long-Lived Marriage Is A Complex Affair, Ma'am
Nost of the blather about family values comes from people who have never managed it for more than a few years....

11. It's something to be VERY WORRIED ABOUT!!! Bush/Clinton/Clinton/Bush
Our founding fathers who broke loose from King George would be rolling in their graves and visiting us in nightmares.

I think it's something to worry about...and I don't know how we deal with it in "modern times" but I think these times are such times of "PERIL" that we need to look to measures where we can "win" but make sure we have a VOICE at the TABLE of DEM RICHES.

FIRST on my MENUE............BRING BACK THE "FAIRNESS DOCTRINE" for MEDIA...

Here's the rub...........Would Bill and Hillary who GAVE IT AWAY IN 96 ...see the "error of their ways?"

That's my ONLY TEST that would be the "STEP ONE!!!"

If they don't see what the "Media" has become...then there would be NO HOPE FOR THEM.

PLAN "B" is: TIPPER AND AL!!! Because I think that THEY both GET IT!!!

4. Let's be fair here.....
Even though comparing the faults of Bill Clinton to others leaves nothing to debate (illicit sex vs starting illegal wars, financial scandals, shredding the US Constitution, et cetera) I think a lot of people are suspect of Hillary Clinton because at the core, they can't understand how she could stand to stay married to a husband such as Bill Clinton. And with a thought such as this, it's not really hard to fathom that some of those on the other side think she just stayed with Bill Clinton to ride his coat tails.

And I don't even want to touch the conservative white male fear of strong women neurosis that so many of them have.....

6. She is a "cross breed." A woman of her time who went to Wellsley...
where she was on the CUSP of Roe vs. Wade, Vietnam War Protests, Beatles and the NEW MOVEMENT.

Hillary more than BILL was AWARE OF FEMALE RIGHTS and the NEW WIND IN AMERICA!

I've trashed her here on DU...but on THIS...I understand. Women of Hillary's Generation were "crossbreeds" they tried to SATISFY ...BOTH AMBITION AND TRADITION!

In MANY WAYS Tipper Gore is similar...although Tipper has a "softer side of her" ...laking that ambitious "edge" that Hillary has always had.

I think we need both of their Women and their Husbands as Dems to move forward...but we on the FAR LEFT NEED TO KEEP PUSHING...PUSHING....PUSHING!!!!

12. That kind of get's to the "heart" of my post. THEY are a PARTNERSHIP!
And when one is married a long time and still can "stay together" there are "compromises."

They do LOVE each other....it would seem because it's EASY these days to DIVORCE and still stay in Politics.

I think their marriage needs to be explained in terms that both of them are torn between "Traditional and New Age."

Hillary and Bill meet the Melding for "common goals."

I think Al and Tipper are the marriage of LOVE through "Thick and Thin Times" and so I respect THEM more than Bill and Hill..........

Yet...what if we could bring in a Dem Administration that INCLUDED THEM BOTH!

We could have a fine time here on the LEFT...dogging them at every turn just like the Chimp needed to listen to his RIGHT who RAN HIM!!!!
