16. Ozark, I'm not agreeing with those Dems.

Hell, Reid is my senator and I've gotten to where I cringe every time he opens his mouth.
I believe * broke the law -- I believe we have ample evidence to have him impeached; that's MY opinion.
However --
I also believe the Constitution was written to be interpreted (I disagree with Antonin Scalia). I believe that the founders wrote it in a way to ensure its usefulness and relevancy for all generations of Americans.

As such, there is no ONE answer encoded in the Constitution or in the laws that have come from the various interpretations of it. That's what the Supreme Court does -- interpret the existing law within their (personal) understanding of the Constitution. Majority "opinion" wins. Sometimes we like their opinions and sometimes we don't.

Do those Dem senators support the Constitution? Depends on how they interpret it, I suppose. I'd like to think that they feel the same way I do, but it sure doesn't seem that way.

5. I hardly dared to hope for impeachment....but this would be the next-best

thing. For too long the Democrats have been labled as 'soft on crime', and this is their chance to prove otherwise. To prove that they will oppose any and ALL crimes against America as a free nation.

Too bad that swing voters wouldn't support congresmen who express opinions different than those of a doormat.

03/13/06 " Local News Leader" -- -- WASHINGTON - Democrats distanced themselves Monday from Wisconsin Sen. Russell Feingold‘s effort to censure President Bush over domestic spying. Vice President Dick Cheney , visiting Feingold‘s state, called the resolution an "outrageous proposition."

"Don‘t hold back," Cheney said.

Asked at a press conference whether he would vote for the censure resolution, Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid of Nevada declined to endorse it and said he hadn‘t read it.

Sen. Joe Lieberman , D-Conn., said he had not read it either and wasn‘t inclined simply to scold the president.

Feingold, a possible contender for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2008, released a five-page censure resolution that accuses Bush of violating the Constitution and the 1978 Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act.

The resolution says censuring Bush also is warranted by "his failure to inform the full congressional intelligence committees as required by law, and his efforts to mislead the American people about the authorities relied upon by his administration to conduct wiretaps and about the legality of the program."

In 1999, Senate Republicans tried but failed to bring a censure resolution against President Clinton after he was acquitted by the Senate on House impeachment charges that he committed perjury and obstructed justice in the Monica Lewinsky affair.

"The outrageous proposition that we ought to protect our enemies‘ ability to communicate as it plots against America poses a key test of our Democratic leaders," he said. "Do they support the extreme and counterproductive antics of a few or do they support a lawful program vital to the security of this nation?

Feingold was the lone senator to oppose the 2001 Patriot Act. Two weeks ago, he was joined by only three other senators in opposing a renewal of the law with some new curbs on police powers. Feingold called the curbs meaningless

That's the way I see it, and they are just as guilty as * himself if they don't support this resolution. To not support it is to support * and his illegal activities against Americans, which are in violation of the Constitution.

All who do not support should be VOTED OUT OF OFFICE - THEY ARE ALSO CRIMINALS, AND THEY ARE NOT DOING THEIR JOBS PROTECTING THE AMERICAN PEOPLE!

To know a crime is taking place, and to do nothing about it and to allow it to continue is a crime in and of itself.
