Scotty dumbs Feingold's censure proposal down for the American population:
"I think it does raise the question, how do you fight and win the war on terrorism?" McClellan said. "And if Democrats want to argue that we shouldn't be listening to al Qaeda communications, it's their right and we welcome the debate. We are a nation at war."
Why you little lying bastard.
Get this into the conversation, Dems: We're not against the wiretapping of al Qaeda suspects. What we're against is doing it randomly WITHOUT THE PROPER WARRANTS.
We're against this president deciding he can circumvent a law - which is purposely designed to be free of red tape - and hide behind the theory of "protecting us" as his excuse.
It's not so much the hubris. It's the ILLEGALITY of what he did. Period.
Try your lies on someone else, Scotty. After the Dubai deal, the Valerie Plame outing, and all your other fairy tales, you're lucky if anyone believes the bullshit that's pouring out of your mouth anymore.
You want to keep pounding Clinton's "I did not have sexual relations with that woman" line? Fine. Let's pound this one right back up your asses.
April 20, 2004:
Now, by the way, any time you hear the United States government talking about wiretap, it requires—a wiretap requires a court order. Nothing has changed, by the way. When we're talking about chasing down terrorists, we're talking about getting a court order before we do so. It's important for our fellow citizens to understand, when you think Patriot Act, constitutional guarantees are in place when it comes to doing what is necessary to protect our homeland, because we value the Constitution.
-President Bush at a "Protecting the Homeland" Q and A in Buffalo, NY
There it is. Bush's "Read My Lips" moment. Run with it, Dems.
