in a national campaign. I hate it too, but we Dems MUST stop constantly trying to EXPLAIN everything in detail when a simple one to five words will do. That's all most people seem to be able to remember.

A lot of the time, it doesn't matter how simply you explain things -- they don't care. Take Bush's warrantless eavesdropping, f'rinstance. That's about as simple as it gets. "Bush is listening in on people's conversations illegally."

But they don't care. The base will go along with anything Bush does, as long it makes them feel safe and powerful.
