GOP Wishes Members Were as Committed as Democrats
Right wing "Christian" broadcasters and some deeply connected GOP operatives are uniting in the hopes of soliciting money from an apathetic flock-

The purpose is to build a powerful online activist community from the large nationwide audience of conservative radio listeners. Political observers say Democrats have thus far been more effective then Republicans at using the Internet to raise money and mobilize supporters.

George Washington University’s Institute for Politics found that more than half of Democrats made political contributions, more than twice the proportion of Republicans.

It could all be moot after tomorrow, of course-

Plans for the new site, however, may be affected by how the Federal Election Commission decides to regulate political activity on the Internet. The agency is scheduled to vote on adopting new regulations Thursday.

It's encouraging to see that it's still a go. We'll all be subject to those new regs and you'd think those types are plugged in enough to know whether or not they're spinning their wheels.

Their motivation is pretty hilarious, though-

Republicans captured Congress in the mid-’90s because of the rise of conservative ideology across the country that radio talk-show hosts played a large role in promoting. Forward-looking Republican leaders such as Rep. Jack Kingston (R-Ga.), vice chairman of the House GOP conference, say that political blogs can be as effective tools of communication as radio shows, and the view is spreading on both sides of the aisle.

Can they really be so clueless about the demographics of their radio audience, and the Angry White Men pathetic, whining, Neanderthal bigots of the 90's? The bootstrap brigade isn't going to cut loose any change, and the religious-rightists are already tithing, aren't they? My tax cut was contributed to Democratic candidates but wouldn't that sort of defeat the tax haters' purpose?

1. The hateful wing of the repuke party won't donate because
they have nothing to donate. They only gravitate to the pukes because they lead these miserable little lives, unemployed or living on a very modest income, and they need someone to blame for the shitty state of their own existence. So the pukes and their hate radio mouthpieces offer them scapegoats, minorities, gays, foreigners and above all, "liberals". Meanwhile they ignore the fact that their pockets are being picked big time by the various people they support so vocally. What are they gonna donate - their trailer?

3. It's going to be funny to watch the Repukes try to use illegal immigration
as a fundraising technique to the "base" that they say they represent . . . but then find out that those people can't afford to donate to the Rs because, well, some "wetback" took their job for much less pay . . .

(I use "wetback" as how the Repuke supporter would claim)

2. Church $$ from the flock. Churches who entertain have to compete
with the most prolific entertainment business the world has seen.

People get bored and move on to the next experience in the cupcake-land carnivale.

4. Ha-ha-ha! Good luck getting a penny from a Libertarian freeper.
They can't even collect enough in dues at their own club meetings. Maybe that's why they seem to like to latch onto either the Democratic or Republican party and try to co-opt their platforms. Lazy asses.
