Feingold's effort reminds me of Wellstone....Out there on the limb alone
Edited on Tue Mar-14-06 10:18 PM by Armstead
Although he is safely in the land of the easily praised because he has passed away, it's important to remember that Paul Wellstone was often in the same boat that Feingold is today.

I remember many times seeing Wellstone on the Senate floor flogging away at efforts that were a political "lost cause," but were the right thing to do. He often was alone out there, ignored by his collegues or being treated with condescention.

It's a shame that doing the right thing is often such a lonely spot in Washington these days.

5. I know, but the criminals running the show now wouldn't think twice about
bringing him down permanently if it served their interests.

3. The beauty of Feingold's motion is the fact that every senator
will have their position recorded for history. The late Eugene McCarthy stood alone against Lyndon Johnson.

Apparently the Democrats are caught off guard, but even the Republicans will demonstrate that not one of them is worthy of standing with any of the top 20 senators in American history. Perhaps only Feingold will demonstrate that he is not a tool of corporate power.

Of course Bush* broke the law. His only choice was to claim the power to override the wiretap limitations. He certainly wasn't going to admit that he got caught. The administration muddied the water so much that the FISA courts must not even be a concern anymore. Do you think that these guys are being paid for nothing? Probably!

Anyway, Wisconsin should be proud of America's only patriot!

7. True ever so true especially in America these days..........
......I just can't see why people don't see the truth when it is right in front of their noses.:dilemma: Unless of course people are so into this crowd mentality that the truth doesn't matter to them, the crowd only matters.
