Which Democrat best understands the serious threat ...?

of present-day Republicanism and the conditions that they have put us in? Which Democrat believes we cannot continue the status quo with small changes around the fringes? Which Democrat best understands the need for overall change? That is the Democrat I will vote for. I don't really care about the egos or ambitions of any Senator or politician in Washington or whether they are elected president or not. If they are in it just for the game, and do not understand the serious situation we find ourselves, I would request they not run for President.

He may not win the primary but he really doesn't care about politics anyway. He's simply doing his job as a Senator right now and ALL accusations about him being politically motivated are ludicrous.

It is sad when one asks the question you did in the singular form. I do believe that there is more than one.

Wes Clark is one who certainly understands the dangers of present-day Republicanism.

I'm very proud to have had the opportunity to run in 2004; I did learn a lot. And if you look at what qualities are required in a president today, this is a time where Americans are engaged and responding to foreign affairs like never before. The war on terror, the war in Iraq, the port issue, global trade, um, the avian flu…I mean, it's just…we cannot wall off the outside world so I think it's very important that Americans look to people who've got some experience. Having said that, my focus is on 2006 and helping the right Democrats get into office because I think when you look at this country, right now, we need a 2-party system that works, we need Congress to do its job, we need real investigation of some of the abuses of authority that are apparently going on at the Executive branch, we need <crosstalk>

GENERAL WESLEY CLARK: We need to really get to the bottom of the Abramoff scandal, we should have a special prosecutor appointed for that, we really need a congressional investigation of the whole business of the NSA wiretapping and how far that goes, there's been a lot of squirreling around the edges; we've never completed the investigation of 9/11 and whether the administration actually misused the intelligence information it had - the evidence seems pretty clear to me, I've seen that for a long time. I think Americans are best served by a strong 2-party system and that's been out of whack and what I can do in 2006 is try to help the right Democrats get into office and that's what I'm going to do.

Which understands best? We do not need someone who thinks the status quo is all that is necessary. Perhaps none believe that but they are not speaking up, so how would we know ?

and that's Senator Biden.

All in all, there is still time for many to act....and the best way that they can do this is to do all that they can to ensure a Democratic congress in 2006, IMO.

Just look to see which of these "undeclared" candidates that you are referring to do all that is in their power to help with the upcoming elections!

9. Dennis Kucinich, Russ, Boxer & The entire Congressional Black Caucus

I think Howard Dean, Al Gore & John Kerry "get it" as well - mostly because they've been direct victims of the broken system.

There are good governance lawmakers, anticorruption lawmakers, balanced budget lawmakers, healthy environment lawmakers, national security lawmakers, diplomatic relations lawmakers, etc.....
