New Rasmussen poll out; Americans believe Iraq is a failure

A new Rasmussen poll is out this afternoon, and it has some shocking numbers about the war in Iraq. For the first time, more Americans think Iraq will be a failure in the long run, rather than a success. 52% said that Iraq is a failure, while only 32% say Iraq will still be a success, by far, the most negative numbers ever seen about the mission.
More shocking numbers. Only 55% of Republicans see Iraq as a success, or will be successful, 13% of Democrats, and 25% of Independents see it the same way. These numbers for Republicans are at historic lows.
While 41% still say the US is winning on the ground in Iraq, 35% disagree. This is up from 39%, 2 weeks ago, but down from 44% in January. The 35% numbers is about the same.
Before the ports deal was axed, 43% of Americans said that felt safer from terror attacks, while 39% say they didn't feel safer, now those numbers are reversed about 2 weeks after the port deal was nixed.

The Republicans will try to spin these numbers, and put it in a positive light for Bush, but these numbers are anything but good news for him.
