Here's how we win in 2006 and 2008....

Listen up Congresspersons and Senators. History lesson here. The main reason Dwight D. Eisenhower won election in 1952 was that he made a promise to the American people to GET US OUT OF THE WAR IN KOREA. The reason he was re-elected is because HE KEPT HIS PROMISE.

Seventy percent of the American people now say it was a MISTAKE to go into Iraq in the first place.

DEMOCRATS: MAKE THE PROMISE TO GET US OUT OF IRAQ, AND PUSH FORWARD MURTHA'S PLAN TO MAKE IT HAPPEN!!!!!

Once we are out, and are in control of the Congress, then Congress can start to DO ITS JOB of REAL OVERSIGHT over this administration by using it's SUBPOENA power to bring in witnesses to TELL THE TRUTH about Bush's crimes.

QUIT WAFFLING ON THIS WAR. IF YOU VOTED FOR IT, COME OUT AND APOLOGIZE FOR YOUR MISTAKE IN BELIEVING THE B.S. CO-SPONSOR THE CENSURE MOTION, AND CLEAN HOUSE!!!

The American people want to know if we will provide real LEADERSHIP!! LEADERSHIP is what the people of America need! Leadership that won't leave any of our citizens stranded and suffering in New Orleans, or in Iraq dying or being maimed in an unwinnable war, or in any other place on the planet that we need not be.

Get a spine! Show some REAL LEADERSHIP, and people will FOLLOW. Guaranteed!

2. Totally agree
Will it happen? I really don't think so. The Democratic Party would really have to suck it up to do all of that....and they have a track record as of late of not doing so...

I predict that whichever Democratic Presidential Candidate is the most anti-war will win the nomination and the presidency. In the meantime, our Congresspeople need to hear from us. I'm ready to surround the WH and the Capitol building with 10 million people while Congress is in session. Take to the streets....enough is enough! :hi:

and Dubya kicked his tail in the primaries, and Dubya's daddy was not a hero by any stretch of the imagination. Not to mention the fact that we have a few "heroes" in our own party.

13. If democrats would
actually give the voters a real choice, then they'd win. Sadly, far too many who are currently holding office, and an equal number who are or will be running, won't do that.

Which is why I expect Democrats to not gain a single seat this year, andy maybe even lose a few. It will be almost fun to watch the spin on that. And it's why a Republican will probably win in '08. And before you flame me, think back (those of you who've been around for a while) at the confidence on this board in '02 and '04, when we thought we couldn't possibly lose.

Well, we were wrong then, and all the threads that claim the tide has turned are mistaken.

Last November Bush's approval was hovering around 505, and no incumbent president had ever won re-election with numbers so low. Plus, a few days before the election John Zogby said without hesitation that Kerry would win. Ask yourself, what really happened? Do you REALLY believe that the R's simply turned out more voters than the D's did? Really?

14. I'm not going to flame you....
you are correct. A few Dems, like John Murtha and Russ Feingold and John Conyers and Henry Waxman are doing just that. We need to keep the heat on the rest. It's WE THE PEOPLE that will make the difference. We can't sit around and hope for our leaders to get a spine...we've got to GIVE THEM A SPINE!!!
