Democratic Message: "Enough is Enough!"
Edited on Wed Mar-15-06 11:03 PM by Armstead
I stole that from the Rude Pundit, but it certainly ought to be the Democratic Message from this day onward.

"Enough is Enough!"

Or, to steal from another source, the 1976 movie Network: "We're mad as hell and we're not going to take it any more!"

C'mon all you overstragized Democratic leaders, just say it a few times in front of a mirror. "Enough is Enough." Straighten that back up, take deep breath. "I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take it any more." Again. Louder. Visualize.

Then poke your ear out the window. Herar that sound, coming from many other windows? What are all those folks out there saying? Listen close. "We're mad as hell and we're not going to take it anymore!"

(Trnslation: About 35 percent approval for a president you thought was invincible.)

Now, go out there and gettum. Where to start? Well, Russ Feingold had a pretty good idea the oteher day....

1. I wouldn't wait. I'd say we the people need to take responsibility for
our country, for our democracy.

Cindy Sheehan didn't wait for the Dem leaders, or for the Green leaders or the Repo leaders either.

She just went and said "Enough is Enough!"

Now it's our turn too....

2. At one point the DNC thought so too.
They sent me a bumpersticker some time last year:

Enough is Enough!
Vote Democratic!

One of these days I'll actually put in on my car.

4. Eh...they already have, in my book.
I have nothing but republican so-called representatives. From township commissioners on up to Santorum and Specter.

Any Dem, Any Day, is better than ANY corrupt bush-supporting weasely republican.

19. Can you at least get on your precinct election board?
Assuming that you aren't already.

If your area is that bad, then you likely have a precinct election board that is all rethug. All you would have to do is get a few signatures, and you could be Minority Inspector. Of course then you have to have a job and/or life circumstances that allow you to work at the poll every Election Day, from about 6:30 am until 9 or 9:30 at night. It's a long day but the Democrats in your precinct will be very, very happy to see you.

6. Or they just abandoned it?
I got the sticker at some point in an email. Probably in the run up to 2005 elections. Overall we didn't do too badly in 2005, did we? I know locally we had some good gains.

I don't know. I just thought it interesting that the DNC had used it at one point.

Anyway the climate is different now, too, so it might be more compelling than it was last year.

10. Didn't seem to catch fire with you...
and it's not a bumper sticker I've ever seen...so it sounds like the campaign fizzled out.

11. I've seen many here in AZ, actually.
I don't know if it's an AZ Dem Party thing, but I have seen quite a few for my traditionally red state.

12. Yup. I agree.
Our candidate must channel the outrage. If we don't we just look like politics as usual.

Because I've been hawking these babies for months now. Not that "Enough is Enough" is actually original.

21. i give these buttons away all the time

i have had many people tell me stories about the honored spot they have, or who stole them from said honored spot. people usually stick them right on, right there. i have seen them turn up at demonstrations, on back packs on the train, all kinds of places. so, it's out there. people are mad as hell. and they are going to stay mad as hell until we start actually counting the votes.
