The threats against Iran are all about the worsening conditions in Iraq

Because Bush sees the Shias murdering the Sunnis by the scores, he sees Iran behind all the Shia uprising. The Shia now have control of the country and the Administration see them as too close to Iran. Whether or not Iran is behind it, we would have to trust our intelligence, and that might not be recommended with their recent track record. Iraq issued a statement today that they were willing to tlak with the US about Iraq...they sounded much like Saddam before Bush decided to invade. However, we do not have hte same military strength now as before the Iraq invasion, except for air power. It is very doubtful that we could put troops on the ground in Iran. So, this is mostly threats to get Iran to call off the Shia bulldogs that have gone crazy in their revenge.
